- A conciliação entre o Deus Uno e o Deus Trino em Santo Agostinho : uma leitura dos livros V a VII do De TrinitatePublication . Balhico, Daniel Escudeiro; Miranda, José Carlos Lopes deThis dissertation in Theology proposes an analysis of how Saint Augustine reconciles the truth about the uniqueness of God and the Trinity. It seeks to provide a general contextualisation of the Trinitarian question from revelation – where monotheism first encounters the novelty of the Trinity – to the Council of Nicaea, focusing on certain stages and authors. Taking Nicaea as the point of arrival, it moves on to Saint Augustine, who, in turn, takes it as his starting point. Based on books V to VII of his De Trinitate, we analyse how Augustine understands and describes the Trinity. By analysing the grammatical argument, we identify what is said according to relationship and what is said according to substance, pointing out exceptions and problematic cases, such as “Holy Spirit” and “person”. After this analysis, the case of the term “person” and its theological consequences is explored in depth. Following this reasoning, the way in which Augustine understands the unity of the divine persons is presented. Finally, note is taken of the apparent contradiction between this reasoning and the statement in book VI of the Holy Spirit as the unity of the Trinity, articulating both.
- O contributo da EMRC para o desenvolvimento das competências pessoais e sociais do PASEO : uma análise didática e curricular da UL 1 do 8.º ano – o Amor HumanoPublication . Pinto, César Abílio Ventura; Moreira, Carlos Manuel MenesesThis work will seek to analyse the contribution of the subject of Catholic Moral and Religious Education (EMRC) to the development of personal and social skills presented in the Profile of Students Leaving Mandatory Education (PASEO). The study focuses on Teaching Unit 1 - 8th grade – Human Love – and its influence on interpersonal relationships, personal development and autonomy, as well as on awareness and knowledge of the body. The theoretical approach is based on theological anthropology and the concept of love as a central element in human development and the construction of healthy relationships, articulating it with Christian values and the objectives of PASEO. The didactic and curricular analysis of the selected Teaching Unit will seek to highlight the relevance of EMRC to the full development of students, promoting ethical, moral, social and spiritual values that favor autonomy, responsibility and empathy. The analysis of the 2014 curricula and the 2018 Essential Learning will demonstrate the evolution of the subject regarding contemporary needs. Within the scope of Supervised Teaching Practice (PES), the application of Teaching Unit 1 and its contribution to the growth of students who are more aware and committed to the common good will be examined. The study will also present some improvement proposals to strengthen the impact of the EMRC on the integral training of students.

Martins, Pedro Emanuel Vilela; Freitas, TiagoUnity is a fundamental and constitutive question of Christian theology, spanning centuries of history. Today, it becomes even more urgent in the context of ecclesial diversity. Yves Congar grew up in a France marked by tensions between the Church and the State, in an environment of increasing secularisation. For Congar, ecclesiology was the number one theological problem: the nature of the Church, its properties, structures, functions, the relationships between its members, with Scripture, Tradition, with other Churches and with the world were at the heart of the French Dominican’s theological concerns. In this sense, Congar emerged as one of the most influential voices in the development of the ecclesiology of the Second Vatican Council, especially with regard to the Church’s internal unity. Congar believed that the unity of the Church was, among many things, an internal reality, grounded in dialogue, communion and continual reform.

Matos, Frederico Onofre Batista Lourenço de; Neto, Tiago Miguel FialhoThe present dissertation in Theology proposes a reflection on the role of the laity in the Church. Drawing on Yves Congar’s theology of the laity, it problematizes the identity and mission of the laity within the Church. Based on the theological consideration of the participation of the baptized in the triplex munus of Christ (priest, prophet, and king), attention is given to two fundamental dimensions of the face the Church seeks to assume in the third millennium: the sensus fidei and synodality. Such an approach makes it possible to identify the theological foundations upon which new opportunities for the participation and co responsibility of all the baptized faithful in today’s Church can be delineated. Aware of the fundamental and irreplaceable role of the laity in ecclesial life, this study explores the ways in which this role has been recognized, encouraged, and fostered within the context of the Church in Portugal. In this regard, it undertakes an analysis of the documents of the Plenary Assembly of the Portuguese Episcopal Conference between 1967 and 2025, identifying and highlighting the references they contain to the laity and to their formation. Finally, the research seeks to offer a profile of the layperson, drawn from the principal conclusions of the research process.
- Contributos de EMRC para o perfil dos alunos de base humanista : releitura da unidade letiva 1 do 9.º ano na perspetiva da Fratelli TuttiPublication . Barreira, Fábio Rafael Parraguês; Moreira, Carlos Manuel MenesesO presente Relatório final da Prática Pedagógica Supervisionada, realizado no âmbito do Mestrado em Ciências Religiosas da Universidade Católica Portuguesa, tem como objetivo a exposição do percurso pedagógico realizado, enquanto docente de Educação Moral e Religiosa Católica (EMRC), ao longo da concretização do estágio na Escola Básica 2/3 de Lamaçães do Agrupamento de Escolas Dona Maria II (AEDMII), sito em Braga, ao longo do ano letivo 2023/2024. O relatório subordina-se a uma dinâmica de análise, reflexão, intervenção e projeção da experiência formativa e prática pedagógica. Posto isto, o relatório reflete as metodologias levadas a cabo ao longo da realização do estágio, naquilo que diz respeito às estratégias de ensino, seleção de recursos e instrumentos de avaliação. O itinerário investigativo, tendo como temática central «A dignidade da vida humana», correspondente à Unidade Letiva 1 do 9.º ano, compreende ainda o modo como, analisada a prática pedagógica, refletimos sobre paradigmas de ação que beneficiem a superação de uma ética individualista para uma abertura natural, movida pela dinâmica de relação incondicional com o próximo, reconhecendo-lhe dignidade, e ainda, deduzir ilações pedagógicas e didáticas prospetivas. A partir de uma anomalia verificada no espectro das relações sociais, fruto do uso exacerbado de aparelhos eletrónicos, no contexto escolar onde decorreu o estágio, interrogamonos sobre a forma e o modo como EMRC, através dos seus conteúdos, natureza e especificidades, podia promover nos alunos uma educação de base humanista, preconizada no PASEO, propiciando vínculos de relação com o próximo pautada pelo modelo relacional da Parábola do Bom Samaritano. Ou seja, o modo como EMRC podia fomentar o reconhecimento do valor absoluto e dignidade presentes em todas as pessoas através da lógica do amor desinteressado e universal, princípio estrutural da Fratelli Tutti (FT), e que, em última análise, contribuísse na orientação dos alunos para os principais referenciais curriculares que orientam o sistema de ensino, ou seja, nomeadamente a promoção de uma base humanista. Por fim, para operacionalizar estes desígnios e materializar uma cultura de próximos, localizada nos interstícios das relações entre as pessoas, e não apenas de socius, optamos por propor uma modalidade educativa pelo serviço, tendo como finalidade revestir de utilidade as aprendizagens junto da comunidade, despertando para uma abertura relacional compenetrada com o reconhecimento da fonte inesgotável de dignidade em cada pessoa. como um reflexo da dinâmica moderna de género. Por outro lado, os participantes do sexo masculino do outro grupo focal concentraramse mais nas características do produto ou na ressonância emocional com os outros do que na dinâmica de género. No entanto, também reconheceram a mudança nas representações de género. No geral, os resultados desta investigação indicam que a representação do género nos filmes publicitários pode ter um impacto significativo nas perceções do consumidor sobre a marca publicitada. Por exemplo, os filmes publicitários que alinham e retratam os valores modernos de igualdade e inclusão de género são vistos de forma positiva entre as jovens consumidoras, o que pode aumentar a confiança na marca e o envolvimento do consumidor. Em contraste, os filmes publicitários que reforçam os papéis tradicionais de género são vistos de forma menos favorável pelos consumidores, o que pode resultar na perda de consumidores mais progressistas para uma marca ou na conquista de consumidores mais progressistas. O relatório conclui destacando a importância de equilibrar a representação de género na publicidade para que as marcas estejam alinhadas com a evolução das expectativas da sociedade e dos valores do consumidor. Por meio de uma abordagem de pesquisa metodológica múltipla, a análise dos quatro estudos de caso de filmes publicitários busca contribuir para o conhecimento das representações de género nos media e fornece contributos úteis para marcas e agências de publicidade negociarem o terreno complexo das imagens de género na publicidade moderna.
- Deus, mistério de amor : uma literacia religiosa mais próxima a partir da unidade letiva 2 do 9º ano «Deus, o grande mistério»Publication . Chaves, Adão da Costa; Palma, Alexandre Coutinho Lopes de Brito; Carvalho, Cristina Maria Ramos Cavalheiro de SáEste relatório final, é o culminar da Prática de Ensino Supervisionada (PES), no âmbito do mestrado em ciências religiosas, foi concretizado na «Escola EB 2, 3 D. Fernando II» do Agrupamento de Escolas Monte da Lua, em Sintra. Durante a PES aprofundei a lecionação da Unidade Letiva 2, «Deus, o Grande Mistério», do Programa de Educação Moral e Religiosa Católica (EMRC), do 9º ano de escolaridade. Procurei estimular a aprendizagem e que os alunos desenvolvessem capacidades e atitudes que fossem ao encontro dos domínios apresentados pelo programa de EMRC do Secretariado Nacional da Educação Cristã de 2014. Este trabalho pretende dar um contributo para uma melhor literacia, pedagogia e estratégias de como devemos abordar a questão do Mistério de Deus aos alunos e a sua relação. A partir do Mistério Trinitário somos chamados a sermos nós mesmos através da nossa relação mútua com Deus. Somos imagem de Deus numa diversidade de refrações, como reflexo da diversidade intradivina, e intervenientes do seu puro amor agápico que nos é dado pela graça e se fundamenta na comunhão poliédrica e multifacetada das pessoas e das suas relações. Com este trabalho pretendo aprofundar o que cada um de nós está chamado a ser, desde uma convivência que mantenha um equilíbrio saudável entre identidade, diferença e unidade. Numa Igreja poliédrica há espaço para que todos contribuam com o melhor de si mesmos, dando-se uma complementaridade e uma multiplicidade harmoniosa a partir das diferenças. Só com este respeito pelas diferenças, desejadas por Deus, alcançaremos a mais profunda comunhão entre todos. Procurei enriquecer esta unidade letiva 2 dando o meu contributo para que os alunos pudessem valorizar as diferenças que existem em cada um e para que entendessem que as diferenças de cada ser humano se inserem numa comunhão integral. Todos somos chamados a acolher o que é diferente de cada ser humano, para que, através das diferenças, possamos viver uma comunhão poliédrica entre todos, caminhando assim para uma comunhão total no ser de Deus plenificada na vida eterna.
- O discipulado como fundamento da evangelização limiar da radicalidade do Evangelho na IgrejaPublication . Viega, Eduardo Nzinga; Rodrigues, Luís Miguel FigueiredoThis dissertation explores the theme of discipleship as the foundation of evangelisation and the radical nature of the Gospel in the Church. It aims to understand how discipleship manifests itself through evangelisation, especially in the context of Salesian youth ministry, where the formation and accompaniment of young people is essential. This study explores discipleship in the light of Sacred Scripture, the Church's magisterium and tradition, emphasising that a personal relationship with Christ qualifies the disciple who wants to be a living witness to the Gospel. The formation of a disciple in volves the will and freedom of the young person; only in this way will they be able to give a conscious response to their Christian vocation, enabling them to become agents of transformation and inspiration in their environment. In reflecting on the missionary and community dimension of discipleship, this work emphasises the importance of belonging to the Church as a place of service and spiritual growth. In this way, discipleship is identified not only as a path to personal holiness, but also as the foundation for building a culture of communion, and an essential encounter for building the values of the Gospel in today's world.
- A eclesiologia batismal do Concílio Vaticano IIPublication . Vieira, Miguel Francisco; Freitas, Tiago André Fernandes deThis dissertation in Theology explores the baptismal dimension as the foundation of ecclesiology and ecclesial praxis. Inspired by the pastoral theme proposed by Bishop José Ornelas for the Diocese of Leiria-Fátima — “Through Baptism we are a living and pilgrim Church” — and by the synodal process promoted by Pope Francis, it seeks to show that Baptism is the root of ecclesial communion, participation, and mission. The analysis of ecclesiological development between the First and Second Vatican Councils, with a particular focus on paragraph 10 of Lumen Gentium, reveals that the common priesthood of the faithful and the ministerial priesthood, though distinct in essence, both share in the one priesthood of Christ. This relationship expresses the structure of ecclesial communion and restores to Baptism its central place as the source of dignity and co-responsibility within the Church. The study concludes that synodality represents the contemporary expression of baptismal ecclesiology, calling the Church to live as a communion of the People of God on the way, where all the baptized actively participate in the life and mission of the Church.
- Educar para a liberdade em EMRC : desafios e perspetivas a partir das perceções dos alunosPublication . Silva, José Milton Ferreira da; Oliveira, António Manuel BrancoO relatório final apresentado neste trabalho refere-se à conclusão do Mestrado em Ciências Religiosas, da Faculdade de Teologia da Universidade Católica Portuguesa. A proposta segue o programa de pós-graduação e a Prática de Ensino Supervisionada. Apresentando uma vasta reflexão que entrelaça várias ideias e autores da filosofia, da ciência da educação, da teologia, entre outros, o conceito referencial de liberdade no relatório final segue o pensamento de Santo Agostinho. Fundamentada nas ideias do livre-arbítrio, do fazer o bem, da responsabilidade e da felicidade, a pesquisa investiga como a lecionação da Educação Moral e Religiosa Católica (EMRC) pode ajudar os alunos na perceção e vivência da liberdade. Em outras palavras, pretende perceber o que os alunos entendem por liberdade e se a escolha de frequentar EMRC é voluntária ou condicionada. Para buscar uma resposta plausível ao objetivo principal do trabalho, o relatório utilizou inquéritos e observações, que serão analisados e comentados de maneira a argumentar a pertinência do tema nos conteúdos de EMRC, sobretudo como sugestão para motivar os alunos a melhorar a participação social dentro e fora da sala de aula.
- Estratégias literárias do Livro dos Atos do Apóstolos : análise de propostas da exegese recentePublication . Kaliquita, Daniel Feka; Almendra, Luísa Maria VarelaOne of the most significant contributions from recent exegesis on the book of Acts of the Apostles is the interpretation of its narrative as a literary project aimed at outlining the construction of a Christian identity. The biblical author employs various literary strategies to serve this theological purpose. Recent studies, particularly by R. Tannehill and D. Marguerat, have explored these literary techniques to better understand Luke's work (the Gospel and Acts) as a dialogue that defines the essential characteristics of a Christian identity emerging at the time the book was written. Elements such as narrative chains, specific language choices, and the repetition of episodes illustrate the literary strategy intended to exemplify the urgent debate surrounding identity at the close of the 1st century. By reevaluating the book of Acts in light of these recent insights, it becomes evident that it serves as a testimony to a Christian identity that, at its foundation, is characterized by both unity and diversity, as well as continuity amidst the discontinuity of certain Jewish elements. The dimensions of universality and the integration of various traditions further enrich the biblical author's perspective on Christian identity.
