- A influência das redes sociais na formação de comunidades virtuais : o caso da twitch em PortugalPublication . Silva, Diana Alves; Petrella, Simonetwitch is currently one of the most relevant digital platforms for live streaming, standing out as a privileged space for the creation and development of virtual communities. This dissertation aims to understand how twitch influences the formation of communities in Portugal, with the main goals of analyzing how streamers build and engage their audiences, how the platform enhances socialization and interaction among users, and identifying the challenges and opportunities that arise in this context. A mixed-methods approach was adopted: an online questionnaire targeting Portuguese twitch users, and semi-structured interviews with two national streamers who manage active communities. The findings reveal that twitch fosters a strong sense of belonging and interaction, often extended to complementary platforms such as Discord. The interviews further highlighted authenticity, consistency, and closeness as key factors for community engagement, as well as the importance of creating safe and respectful environments. Nevertheless, there are significant limitations regarding professionalization, given the small size of the Portuguese audience and the difficulty of sustaining careers solely on the platform. Still, twitch stands out as a catalyst for new forms of digital sociability, enabling the construction of bonds of friendship, shared interests, and mutual support. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the role of twitch in Portugal, while also opening pathways for future comparative research in other cultural contexts.
- A eclesiologia batismal do Concílio Vaticano IIPublication . Vieira, Miguel Francisco; Freitas, Tiago André Fernandes deThis dissertation in Theology explores the baptismal dimension as the foundation of ecclesiology and ecclesial praxis. Inspired by the pastoral theme proposed by Bishop José Ornelas for the Diocese of Leiria-Fátima — “Through Baptism we are a living and pilgrim Church” — and by the synodal process promoted by Pope Francis, it seeks to show that Baptism is the root of ecclesial communion, participation, and mission. The analysis of ecclesiological development between the First and Second Vatican Councils, with a particular focus on paragraph 10 of Lumen Gentium, reveals that the common priesthood of the faithful and the ministerial priesthood, though distinct in essence, both share in the one priesthood of Christ. This relationship expresses the structure of ecclesial communion and restores to Baptism its central place as the source of dignity and co-responsibility within the Church. The study concludes that synodality represents the contemporary expression of baptismal ecclesiology, calling the Church to live as a communion of the People of God on the way, where all the baptized actively participate in the life and mission of the Church.
- A relação entre os pensamentos intrusivos, os pensamentos ruminativos e a infidelidade em relacionamentos românticosPublication . Veloso, Ana Jorge Veiga; Leite, Ângela Maria TeixeiraThis dissertation explores the relationships between intrusive thoughts, ruminative thoughts, and infidelity in romantic relationships. Intrusive thoughts, often involuntary and distressing, disrupt psychological well-being and are prevalent in various psychopathological disorders, such as obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety disorders. Ruminative thoughts, characterized by persistent and obsessive reflection on past events or worries, exacerbate negative emotions and contribute to mental health problems, such as depression and anxiety. Infidelity, defined as a breach of emotional or sexual exclusivity, triggers significant emotional turmoil and cognitive disturbances, including intrusive and ruminative thoughts. The Intrusive Thoughts Scale, the Ruminative Responses Scale, and the Attitudes toward Infidelity Scale were administered to a sample of 427 adult participants. Data analysis was conducted using the statistical program SPSS, version 28, and the AMOS program, version 28, including descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analyses, correlations, and mean comparison tests. The results showed significant positive correlations between intrusive thoughts and ruminative responses, as well as notable differences based on participants’ sex and age. It was also found that individuals who had experienced infidelity reported higher levels of intrusive thoughts and ruminative responses. These findings underscore the importance of considering these constructs in understanding the emotional difficulties associated with romantic relationships and in developing clinical interventions aimed at addressing these issues.
