- Early warning signs of adolescents aggressive behavior risk in institutional setting: a scoping review protocolPublication . Ferreira, António; Fluttert, Frans; Cardoso, Tiago; Rosa, Amorim; Sá, LuísAim: The main objective of the review is to map the literature on the warning signs of aggressive behaviour in adolescent inpatients in an institutional setting. Introduction Aggressive behaviour, self ou directed to others is a problem in the context of healthcare. Although they can be spontaneous, most of them are escalating behaviours manifested by warning signs, which, through early identification by nurses, allows for early intervention with an impact on the use of restrictive methods. However, there are gaps in research into these signs, particularly in the adolescent population. Inclusion criteria: The question formulation framework PCC was adopted, with P being the population (adolescents, aged 10 to 19 inclusive), C the concept (warning signs of aggressive behaviour) and C the context (institutions for adolescents). Methodology: The scoping review protocol will adopt the methodology proposed by the JBI Manual for Evidence Synthesis. The search will be carried out in CINAHL Complete, APA PsycArticles, PUBMED and Scopus, via an EBSCO interface and the search strategy will be carried out in accordance with the respective databases/repositories. Titles and abstracts of published and unpublished studies will be analysed within the inclusion criteria. The process of selecting, extracting and analysing the data will be carried out by three independent reviewers. Results: The results will be presented in tabular and narrative form. Conclusions: This scoping review will contribute to identify the warning signs of aggressive behaviour for adolescents in an institutional setting, enhancing nurses' early intervention in preventing and managing the risk of these behaviours occurring.
