- Deaftopia: utopian representations and community dreams by sign language peoplesPublication . Gil, CristinaDeaftopia conceptualizes utopian and dystopian manifestations of Sign Language Peoples, drawing from Deaf-led cultural productions. These cultural objects contain narratives and discourses that stem from diverse sources, including Deaf artwork and films, Deaf literature and visuature, Deaf-led activist demonstrations, and even political efforts for sign language recognition. Many perspectives are possible within Deaftopia. The utopian discourse enables us to get a glimpse of an improved societal scaffold, where sign language and Deaf culture thrives, while dystopian counter narratives and discourses of resistance forewarn us about the threats and dangers to Sign Language Peoples and their cultural legacy. This essay outlines findings from my doctoral research, with the aim not only to bring forth knowledge of Deaf culture, but also to contribute to its preservation. This is the role of Deaftopia for Sign Language Peoples.

There is also some misunderstanding regarding the role of the supervisor/tutor, although significant differences are observed in the approaches across different scientific fields. This topic needs further reflection. The paper considers the quality of supervision and progress monitoring in doctoral education paths.

Estas proporcionam informações do Homem sobre o Homem, permitindo apreender os comportamentos humanos. Um exemplo paradigmático do afirmado é o legado de Molière no teatro. Nas suas peças, Molière denuncia os pequenos defeitos do seu tempo, mas apresenta igualmente personagens humanas universais. D. Juan é uma delas. Molière coloca nela o problema da libertinagem e das suas ligações profundas com a hipocrisia, como a sedução sem escrúpulos, o cinismo e a libertinagem filosófica. Atualmente, esta peça de Molière continua a ser representada em palco, não só em França, como noutros países; veremos como, em Portugal especificamente, este legado é ainda hoje um desafio para os encenadores.

- Representatividade: reflexão sobre a indústria literária através do livro-reportagem "Não. Ele não está"Publication . Faria, Eduardo; Alves, Andreza; Andrade, José GabrielEste estudo busca refletir sobre a Indústria Criativa da literatura no Brasil, bem como o desempenho no mercado editorial e literário através do livro-reportagem “Não. Ele Não Está”, de Maíra de Deus Brito, considerando a inclusão racial (aplica-se aqui, também, outros campos inclusivos) como uma maneira de consolidar o mercado, estimular a produção cultural bibliográfica e conquistar novos públicos por vezes negligenciados pela falta de representatividade. Proposta pela UNESCO, a Indústria Criativa tem a intenção de promover rupturas em cada nicho que atua, propondo inovação e mudanças sociais; portanto, a partir da entrevista com a escritora, buscamos compreender a atuação da Indústria Criativa na literatura sob à ótica de uma escritora mulher e negra - características por vezes negligenciadas pela sociedade e pela indústria literária. Esta pesquisa foi desenvolvida para a disciplina de “Indústrias Culturais, Públicos e Mercados”, da Universidade do Minho, em Portugal, e ampliada considerando o recorte pós-pandêmico.
- A condição da mulher nos sectores do cinema e do audiovisual em PortugalPublication . Burnay, Catarina Duff; Félix, João; Tavares, PatríciaThis study on the Condition of Women in the Film and Audiovisual Sectors in Portugal was promoted by MUTIM – Mulheres Trabalhadoras das Imagens em Movimento, an association founded in 2022, whose mission is precisely to think about and leverage the presence of women in cinema and audiovisual in Portugal, promoting parity and equitable representation, and by XX Element Project-Associação Cultural, a cultural association founded in 2016 that seeks to be an agent of intervention in the fight to promote equity, respect and inclusion of all people, through the development of artistic projects. In order to listen to the feelings and experiences of the women involved professionally in these sectors, the two associations created an online survey questionnaire and distributed it to workers in these fields without any gender bias. In a second phase, in-depth interviews were carried out with ten female professionals, as a way of identifying/specifying particular situations and complementing the information found in the survey. Simultaneously, the associations analysed three grants awarded by ICA: New Talents and First Works; Support for Cinema; and Support for Audiovisual and Multimedia. They also mapped the gender of professionals holding managerial positions in public bodies that support the cinema and audiovisual sectors, as well as in the most relevant management bodies and boards of the three main audiovisual media groups in Portugal.

Este livro fornece as bases para uma melhor compreensão do que são as 'relações públicas ativistas' - uma nova área de investigação neste campo em Portugal - e qual o seu papel e posicionamento no âmbito da Comunicação Estratégica e das Ciências Sociais. Convida a reflexões transdisciplinares críticas que facilitem o envolvimento de diferentes intervenientes na ação coletiva que é necessária perante desafios globais complexos.
