Abstract(s)
O termo Humanidades engloba hoje em dia todas as Ciências Humanas.
The term Humanities encompasses nowadays all the Human Sciences. These provide information from human beings about human beings, allowing us to understand human behaviour. A prime example of this is Molière's legacy in the theatre. In his plays, Molière denounces the small flaws of his time, but he also presents universal human characters. D. Juan is one of them. Molière poses the problem of libertinage and its deep links with hypocrisy, such as unscrupulous seduction, cynicism and philosophical libertinism. Today, Molière's play continues to be performed on stage, not only in France but also in other countries; we'll see how, in Portugal specifically, this legacy is still a challenge for directors today.
