Abstract(s)
O ensino a distância nasceu da necessidade de diminuir as barreiras geográficas e da
exigência de preparo profissional, buscando então, metodologias de ensino alternativas ao
modelo tradicional presencial. No Brasil, os primeiros cursos oferecidos a distância foram por
correspondência, evoluindo juntamente com a tecnologia, sendo posteriormente oferecidos
via rádio, depois via televisão, até chegar nos dias atuais no computador, por meio da internet
e dos ambientes virtuais de aprendizagem. O avanço dos meios de comunicação e das
tecnologias da informação proporcionou a evolução deste modelo de ensino que se
desenvolveu exponencialmente nos últimos anos, até levar nos dias de hoje, o ensino superior
à casa dos brasileiros. Diante de tamanha proporção ganha pelo ensino superior a distância
brasileiro nos últimos anos, o presente estudo visa discorrer sobre sua trajetória, desafios e
vitórias com o objetivo de analisar de que forma a sua reputação, ou seja, a sua imagem vem
se construindo perante a sociedade. Considera-se que ao romper com um paradigma de uma
educação tradicional e ao valorizar uma estrutura formativa, onde o processo de construção
da educação seja, sim de qualidade, mas muito mais inclusivo e acessível para o povo
brasileiro, pode-se sim, transformar um país.
Distance studying has born from the necessity of diminishing the geographic barriers and the demand of professional preparation, searching for teaching methodologies alternative from the traditional face-to-face model. In Brazil, the first degrees in distance studying were set by mail, evolving and-in-and with technology, being presented by Radio, followed by TV, until it reached nowadays by computer, using the Internet or virtual learning environments. The progress of social media and the informational technology allowed the evolution of this teaching method which developed exponentially over the last years, bringing nowadays University education to the home of Brazilians. Due to the high proportions of distance studying in brazil over the last years, the present study aims to speak of its trajectory, challenges and victories with the goal to analyze the way its reputation, meaning, their image, towards society. By breaking the paradigm of traditional education and by valuing an educational structure, where the process of building education is of high standards but much more inclusive and accessible for the Brazilian people, we can transform a Country.
