Abstract(s)
O trabalho que aqui apresentamos tem como objetivo ajudar a compreender a influência da desmotivação no desempenho da profissão docente.
Os motivos que nos levaram a escolher este tema foram as preocupações sentidas, enquanto membro da direção de uma escola, em que fomos ouvindo quer na sala de professores, quer nas escolas pertencentes ao AE, os desabafos e preocupações dos professores, quer relativas às condições de trabalho, quer relativas ao insucesso dos alunos, à desresponsabilização cada vez maior dos pais/EE, à indisciplina cada vez mais acentuada dos alunos, entre outras situações.
O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o impacto que a desmotivação exerce em algumas dimensões no desempenho da profissão docente. Foi aplicado um inquérito por questionário a 116 professores à escola em estudo. Foram realizadas entrevistas aos Coordenadores das UE do Agrupamento, porque sobre eles recai grande parte da responsabilidade de gerir as escolas e os professores que nelas lecionam, procurando nós obter, deste modo, uma informação mais completa.
Relativamente ao impacto da desmotivação no desempenho do professor concluímos que são vários os fatores de desmotivação que têm impacto no desempenho do docente. No entanto, também se concluiu que, apesar de todos os constrangimentos a que está sujeito, o professor participa em todas as atividades da escola/agrupamento e faz tudo em prol do sucesso dos alunos, sendo este exercício docente um fator de satisfação profissional.
The objective of this work is to help understand the influence of demotivation on the performance of the teaching profession. This theme was chosen due to the concern felt as a member of the Direction Board of a school where it is heard, whether in the teacher’s room, whether in the other schools of the group, the outflows and concerns of teachers regarding to the student’s failures, to the increasing disclaimer of the parents/other carers, to the increasing indiscipline among students, and other situations. The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of demotivation on the performance of the teaching profession. A questionnaire was applied to 116 teachers of the school in study. Coordinators of the Educative Units of the Schools Group were interviewed, because it falls on them much of the responsibility to manage schools and their teachers, this way allowing us to obtain more complete information. Regarding to the impact of demotivation on the performance of teaching profession, it was concluded that there are several demotivation factors. Nevertheless, it was also concluded that despite all the constraints they have to face, teachers participate in all the activities of the school/schools group and do everything for the sake of student success, this teaching practice being a factor of professional satisfaction.
