Considerando o trabalho do diretor pedagógico como um instrumento importantíssimo
na eficácia do processo educacional, este estudo tem como objetivo conhecer um pouco da
visão do diretor sobre a sua função e a sua ação.
As investigações realizadas sobre o papel e as funções do diretor pedagógico numa
escola, baseiam-se na capacidade que o mesmo tem em gerir a interação entre a escola e a
comunidade envolvente. Este fator tem sido uma problemática alvo de variadíssimos estudos
apresentados, nomeadamente sob o domínio da Sociologia das Organizações e da
Administração Escolar.
Pretende-se entender o significado que estes profissionais construíram relacionando as
suas competências e atribuições, através da experiência da gestão, conhecendo-se assim o
olhar do sujeito sobre sua realidade.
O presente trabalho tem como principal objetivo dar a conhecer o lugar do diretor
pedagógico, as suas funções, compreendendo a autonomia deste profissional no centro de uma
escola. Autonomia essa que é proferida por todos os profissionais, que direta ou indiretamente
estão ligados ao sistema educativo, mas o seu conceito e dimensão não têm sido percecionados
por todos de uma forma igual.
Sendo assim as escolas deviam ser vistas como organizações autónomas e reflexivas
com competências e responsabilidades necessárias e suficientes para poderem tomar decisões
importantes e decisivas em questões essenciais para a sua atividade.
The work of the pedagogical director is a very importante instrument in promoting the educational process. This study depicts his vision and the development of his action. Research into the role and functions of pedagogical director is based on his ability to manage them and promotes this interaction between the school community and the civil society. This fact has been object of many studies presented in the sociology of organization and school administration. These professionals have built a true meaning about their competences and their actions through the management experience. In this way, we can understand their point of view of their reality. Throughout this work we intend to realise the autonomy of the pedagogical director in the centre of a school, knowing the place he occupies, his function, managing the responsibility that is given by all professionals who are directly or indirectly linked to the educational system, but the concept and dimension they were not understood by all equally. The schools should be seen as autonomous and reflective organizations with the necessary and suficiente competences and responsibility to be able to make important and binding decisions essential to their activity.
