Esta dissertação centra-se na obra Fantasia para dois coronéis e uma piscina, de
Mário de Carvalho, na qual é retratado o Portugal do início do século XXI. Numa
abordagem inicial, focaliza-se a importância da contextualização histórico-cultural
contemporânea, na produção das obras de Mário de Carvalho. Procura-se, também,
incluir a obra no pós-modernismo.
O presente estudo, ainda, centra-se em temáticas como a intertextualidade, a
ironia, a crítica satírica, a polifonia ou a metaficção. Verifica-se as relações intertextuais
com obras anteriores do autor, com grande incidência em O livro grande de Tebas,
navio e Mariana. Abordam-se os conceitos da reflexividade e da metaficção.
Por fim, o retrato do Portugal contemporâneo a que se reporta esta produção
literária de Mário de Carvalho sofre uma evolução, tornando a crítica satírica cada vez
mais clarificada até ao romance que é a base deste estudo.
This dissertation focuses on the work Fantasia para dois coronéis e uma piscina, by Mário de Carvalho, in which Portugal is portrayed at the beginning of the 21st century. In an initial approach, the importance of contemporary historical-cultural contextualization is focused on the production of Mário de Carvalho's works. It is also sought to include the work in postmodernism. The present study also focuses on topics such as intertextuality, irony, satirical criticism, polyphony or metafiction. Intertextual relations are verified with previous works of the author, with great incidence in O livro grande de Tebas, navio e Mariana. The concepts of reflexivity and metafiction are approached. Finally, the portrait of contemporary Portugal to which this literary production of Mário de Carvalho reports is undergoing an evolution, making the satirical critic more and more clarified until the novel that is the basis of this study.
