Num momento de transição entre Acordos de Parceria entre Portugal e a União Europeia, acrescido da chegada do Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência, torna-se inevitável o entendimento sobre que impactos é que os Fundos Europeus Estruturais e de Investimento (FEEI) têm nas empresas portuguesas. Assim, a principal finalidade deste trabalho de investigação é compreender qual é o impacto dos FEEI no tecido empresarial português. Para tal, são estudadas duas empresas portuguesas que realizaram projetos de investimento com o apoio do Portugal 2020 (concretamente, o Compete 2020) e os respetivos efeitos na performance das mesmas. Para este efeito, foram analisados vários documentos relativos à atividade e projetos de investimento das empresas, e foram também realizadas entrevistas aos representantes das mesmas. As conclusões revelam que a performance destas empresas portuguesas melhorou em várias dimensões, como o investimento, competitividade, produtividade e crescimento. Por outro lado, foi também concluído que o acesso aos FEEI deveria ser simplificado, desburocratizado e descentralizado.
In a moment of transition between the Partnership Agreements between Portugal and the European Union, plus the arrival of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, the understanding about the impacts of the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) on Portuguese companies is inevitable. Thus, the main purpose of this research work is to understand the impact of ESIF on Portuguese companies. For that purpose, two Portuguese companies that had investment projects supported by Portugal 2020 (specifically, Compete 2020) are studied as well as their effects on their performances. To this purpose, several documents related to the companies’ activities and investment projects were analyzed, and interviews were conducted with the companies’ representatives. The findings reveal that these Portuguese companies’ performance has improved in several dimensions, such as investment, competitiveness, productivity, and growth. On the other hand, it was also concluded that access to the ESIF should be simplified, de-bureaucratized and decentralized.
