Abstract(s)
Neste Relatório de Atividade Profissional pretende-se refletir sobre o papel da
Biblioteca Escolar, enquanto serviço técnico-pedagógico e o seu contributo para o desenvolvimento
da escola e exercício da sua autonomia.
Nestes últimos quatro anos, após o processo de instalação e desenvolvimento das
bibliotecas escolares, temos assistido à implementação do Modelo de Avaliação da Biblioteca
Escolar (MABE) desenvolvido pelo Programa da Rede de Bibliotecas Escolares
(RBE), enquanto referencial de gestão e instrumento de orientação e melhoria interna da
ação desenvolvida pelas bibliotecas escolares. Mais do que a gestão e funcionamento do
espaço físico, é objetivo da RBE que a ação da Biblioteca Escolar se centre, agora, na articulação
com o currículo, com o desenvolvimento das diferentes literacias, com a formação
de leitores e com a construção da cidadania.
A criação da função do professor bibliotecário contribuiu para a institucionalização
da Biblioteca Escolar.
Sendo o projeto da biblioteca uma estratégia da escola para o desenvolvimento do
currículo nacional e uma mais-valia para a sua autonomia cultural, pedagógica e administrativa
deve ser considerado no processo de avaliação da escola.
In this professional activity report it is intended to think over the role of the school library, while technical and pedagogical service and its contribution to the school development and autonomy. In the last four years, after the installation process and development of school libraries, we have seen the implementation of the School Library Assessment developed by the School Library Network (SLN) as management reference and guidance tool and internal improvement of the action developed by school libraries. More than the management and operation of the physical space, the SLN’s goal is that the action of School Library focuses in conjunction with the curriculum, with the development of different literacies, with the formation of readers and the construction of citizenship . The role of librarian teacher has contributed to the institutionalization of the School Library. As library’s project is assumed as a school’s strategy for the development of the national curriculum and as an asset for its cultural, educational and administrative autonomy, it must be considered in the school‘s assessment process.
