Nos últimos anos, o YouTube emergiu como uma plataforma digital que aglomera
uma vasta oferta de conteúdos audiovisuais. O objetivo deste estudo é compreender as
possibilidades desta plataforma como site que alberga conteúdos que 1) simultaneamente
educam e entretêm as suas audiências, 2) educam estas audiências para o consumo de marcas
e 3) exercem um papel na formação da memória histórica das audiências. Foi selecionada
uma amostra de doze vídeos, quatro para cada tema: edutainment, educação para o consumo
e formação da memória histórica. Procedeu-se a uma análise qualitativa de cada um dos
filmes. Entre as principais conclusões do estudo sublinhamos que o YouTube é um espaço
digital onde 1) a audiência juvenil pode ser educada ao mesmo tempo que é entretida, 2) a
audiência juvenil é educada para o consumo e 3) a audiência constrói e forma a sua memória
histórica.

The aim of this study is to understand the possibilities of this platform as a site that includes content that 1) simultaneously educates and entertains its audiences, 2) educate these audiences towards the consumption of brands and 3) plays a role in the formation of the historical memory of audiences. A qualitative analysis of each of the films was carried out.
