Abstract(s)
conceptual, contextualização e alguns percursos; a arte contemporânea no ensinoaprendizagem
This study, undertaken as part of the Master thesis in Visual Arts Teaching in the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education and Secondary Education, has by theme the repercussions of contemporary art in the teaching of visual arts. We share the conviction that contemporary art triggers a positive impact on basic visual arts teaching, which must be analyzed, experienced and promoted. In this sense, we intend to explore the issues that are raised by the presence of contemporary art in the visual arts teaching. In particular, we produced a theoretical research project and pedagogical intervention in basic education, with students who expressed a lack of knowledge and interest towards contemporary art. Hence, we tried to initiate our students in the tasks of analysis and contextualization of contemporary art, and there was place for streamlining sessions of reflection, as well as creativity and instrumental operationalization, culminating in the presentation of various plastic works that reflected an openness to new challenges and ideas provided by contemporary art. The research areas of the theoretical component of this report is confined to the following fields of study: the current visual arts education system - an analysis of their teaching situation; contemporary art – a chronological and conceptual definition outline, context and some paths; contemporary art in the teaching visual arts - in their resistance factors and implications of their integration; the benefits of the image as a strategy; cognitive and creative potential of contemporary art; and finally the study of the Triangular Proposal Ana Mae Barbosa. The description and analysis of the pedagogical-didactic activities with students of our internship class, focused on the diverse experiences of contemporary art across the disciplines of painting, drawing, sculpture and performing an installation, show the benefits of contemporary art in the teaching of visual arts. Thus, we consider it essential to cultivate this approach in order to contribute to the formation of more enlightened, critical and interventional citizens.
