Abstract(s)

Therefore, the objective of this study was to characterize a sample of 359 students from the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education (CEB), aged between 10 and 16 years, from 9 schools that integrated and did not integrate the educational project Nature is the Best Classroom (NSA), in terms of school involvement and pro-environmental attitudes and behavior, depending on gender, year of schooling and participation in the NSA project. A quantitative methodology was used and data were collected in person at schools. Data collection involved filling in a Sociodemographic Questionnaire, the EAE-D4D questionnaire and the Pro-environmental Attitudes and Behaviors scale. The main results indicate that the girls showed more pro-environmental attitudes and behaviors, as well as the students who participated in the NSA educational project show a greater involvement with the school. Significant correlations were also observed between dimensions of school involvement and pro-environmental attitudes and behaviors.
