Abstract(s)
This report was carried out as part of the curricular units Professional Practice I and Professional Practice II, part of the Master's Degree in Music Teaching at University Católica Portuguesa - Porto. This report is divided into two parts, the first part refers to the lessons learnt in the ensemble class area (M32), which results from the professional practice carried out in the current academic year 2022/2023, the second part of this report refers to the Pedagogical Intervention Project. The supervised teaching practice was carried out at the Fernandes Fão Music Academy - Ponte de Lima, under the scientific Guidance of Professor Cesário Costa and cooperating supervisors Nuno Lima and Lioba Vergely. The pedagogical intervention project has the theme "Teaching choral practice through the mother tongue in schools and music conservatories". The research methodology used in the investigation is part of the action-research model, whose procedures will follow the parameters of a qualitative analysis, underpinning the study by the Pedagogical Relationship (PR) model of Canadian researcher Renald Legendre (1993; 2005). The data collection techniques used in this research were: questionnaires for the students taking part during the implementation of the PIP, evaluation grids for analysing the work sessions and direct observation. This pedagogical intervention project was implemented in two choir ensemble classes at the Fernandes Fão Music Academy - Ponte de Lima. The results obtained in relation to the contribution of this PIP show a positive conclusion with regard to the teaching of repertoire in the mother tongue in the subject of vocal ensemble class, the receptivity and commitment of the students was equally positive as the enthusiasm, commitment and dedication to the study of music.
