Abstract(s)
O nosso trabalho pretendeu analisar a obra narrativa ficcional do autor Jacinto
luz do realismo pós-moderno.
Our work aimed to analyze the fictional narrative work of the author Jacinto Lucas Pires from the point of view of the characters and their links to modernity, both in the short story and in the novel. For that purpose, we’ve chosen two novels of the author and an anthology of short stories, respectively: “Do sol”, “O verdadeiro ator” e “Assobiar em público”. We’ve tried to find out the connections and diversities between the characters of the various narratives but, basically, the way the fictional character is worked, according to his figuration in the story and in the novel. This primordial category of any story, inseparable from the narrator, despite being undermined by literary studies, namely by the narrative studies, sometimes begins to be revalued and, from our viewpoint, is essential in the author’s work, because it is through it that we are given a picture of today’s urban reality, though there is an intimate correlation between character and narrative. Moreover, these "fictional figures" represent a variety of types of contemporary society and, therefore, we consider it an interesting subject of study. As a result, we cannot avoid making a reading of the works in the face of postmodern realism.
