Abstract(s)
Currently it is believed that most health problems and risk behaviors can be prevented or significantly reduced through effective school health programs. When we started our stage of specialization it was suggested by our nurse tutor the area of substance use in a specific population. During the first module we developed a Diagnostic Health where we seek to know the reality of school EB 2 / 3 of Perafita, as well as identify existing needs in the area of substance use. At the end of this step, we identified a set of needs that have converged to focus attention, Substance Use: Tobacco. After the determination of priorities, it was designed, implemented and evaluated an intervention project which we named "The young and the (In) Dependency - Tobacco say no." This project aimed to promote the acquisition of knowledge about the harmful effects of tobacco use. In the final step of the stage we assessed the health gains, based on the application of indicators of operation and result, previously defined. Throughout this course of specialization we acquired skills that enabled us to know the population, identify their needs, establishing the necessary links to ensure the continuity of proper health care. We believe that nurses with community nursing specialization are uniquely positioned to develop projects that enable the population to make individual and collective decisions.
