Abstract(s)
Cada vez mais é imprescindível que as instituições e os
profissionais que lidam com informação estejam aptos a
aproveitar o potencial sempre renovado das tecnologias da
informação em prol do desenvolvimento e da divulgação dos seus
bens e serviços. Reflectir sobre o papel dos Arquivos
Portugueses na Sociedade da Informação, bem como identificar
quais os recursos da Web 2.0 utilizados para divulgar e
interagir com os seus públicos são os objectivos centrais
desta investigação. A metodologia adoptada foi a de estudo de
caso que permite segundo Yin (2005) contribuir para o
conhecimento dos fenómenos organizacionais e sociais entre
outros. Recorremos a técnicas de recolha de dados baseada em inquérito por questionário administrados a trezentos e oito
Arquivos Municipais, dezoito Distritais e dois Regionais tendo obtido setenta e sete respostas. Os resultados obtidos com o tratamento estatístico dos dados permitem concluir que, apesar da grande importância atribuída pelos Arquivistas ao desenvolvimento e aplicação de tecnologias da informação o nível de utilização dos recursos da Web 2.0 é relativamente diminuto. Desta constatação é possível inferir que existe falta de conhecimento e de visão para o potencial dos recursos dos média sociais como dimensão complementar à dinâmica de comunicação dos Arquivos e do papel do Arquivista.
Increasingly, it is essential that institutions and professionals who deal with information are able to harness the potential new information technologies for development and dissemination of their goods and services. Reflect on the role of the Portuguese Archives in the Information Society, as well as identify what Web 2.0 features used to unveil and interact with their users are the central objectives of this research. The methodology adopted was a case study that allows, according to Yin (2005) to contribute to the knowledge of organizational and social phenomena and others as well. We apply data collection techniques based on survey, administered to three hundred and eight Municipal Archives, eighteen District and two Regional and obtained seventy-seven responses. The results obtained with the statistical treatment of data shows that, despite the great importance attached by archivists in the development and application of information technology, the level of Web 2.0 use features are relatively small. This finding is possible to infer that there is a lack of knowledge and vision for the resource potential of social media as a complementary dimension to the dynamics of communication files and the role of archivists.
