Abstract(s)
This scientific work seeks to answer the question that gave it its title. As this answer cannot be given out of context, we analyze the period of composition of the gospel, its author and the place where he wrote his work. In addition, it was also very important to investigate the characteristics of the first evangelist and the way he structured his gospel. Later, we will deepen the passage that we proposed to analyze (Mt 16, 13-20) in order to highlight some characteristics that do not become perceptible only with a reading and, as such, we compare them with those of other synoptics. Finally, we proceed to its textual exegesis, that is, we try to discover what the author intended to convey with these words. We could not finish this work without transposing this question to our reality, always with the aim of finding an answer to it today.
