Olhar os acontecimentos de Fátima na sua relação com o Papado, leva-nos a vislumbrar aqui a Igreja Universal de Cristo. Olhar Fátima e o Papado é olhar para a história da humanidade na relação estreita com Deus. Fátima inscreve-se numa teologia do encontro, de quem encontra, de quem é encontrado, de quem se deixa encontrar.
Se Fátima e a sua mensagem apresentam uma maneira de o homem se relacionar com a vida, também o Papado aponta para essa maneira de viver, que traz consigo a conversão, o sacrifício, a penitência, mas também o triunfo do amor, o triunfo do Coração.
Fátima apela ao Papa, à Igreja, ao mundo para confiarem no Imaculado Coração de Maria. Maria, como intercessora, pode levar o mundo à tão desejada paz. Esta confiança, que é esperança, ganham a forma de consagração.
Os Papas, com a peculiaridade de cada tempo, foram-se relacionando com Fátima e propondo Fátima como uma leitura atual dos tempos da história, apontando caminhos de esperança num peregrinar corporizado no seu próprio peregrinar. O Papa peregrino sobre a terra, peregrinando a Fátima e peregrinando no mundo, descortina o caminho do triunfo do Coração.
Gazing the phenomena of Fatima in its relation with the Papacy drives us to glimpse the Universal Church of Christ. To gaze Fatima and the Papacy is to watch to the history of mankind in its narrow connection to God who visits us. Fatima can be registered in a theology of the rendezvous, of who finds, who is found, and who let’s himself be found. If Fatima and its message present a way of being related to life, so does the Papacy points to that way of living, which brings conversion, sacrifice and penance but also the triumph of love, the triumph of the heart. Fatima appeals to the Pope, to the Church and to the world to trust in the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Mary, as intercessor, can lead the world to the much desired peace. This confidence, which is hope, takes the form of consecration. The Popes, with the peculiarity of each time, were relating to Fatima and proposing Fatima as a current reading of the times of history, pointing out paths of hope in a pilgrimage embodied in their own pilgrimage. The Pope, a pilgrim on earth, on pilgrimage to Fatima and around the world, reveals the path of triumph of the Heart.
