As redes sociais são o assunto do momento! Com as redes sociais o nosso
mundo está conectado socialmente, estrategicamente e tecnologicamente. O mundo das
redes sociais resulta da convergência em torno de plataformas como Facebook, Twitter,
Google+, Linkedin, Youtube, Flickr, Slideshare, Hi5, Digg, Delicious, Vimeo, etc.
Chama-se a isto a Web 2.0.
Cada vez mais as instituições e a sociedade estão a descobrir as possibilidades e
o potencial que elas oferecem. Porém, o entusiasmo em usar as redes e estar conectado a
todo momento pode de futuro vir a atrapalhar a vida profissional das pessoas.
Os jovens, no entanto, utilizam as plataformas de uma forma despreocupada,
sem ter em conta questões de privacidade e de segurança, e sem se interrogar sobre o
efeito das suas ações no seu próprio futuro.
Os pesquisadores que se debatem sobre esta área estão a tentar quantificar,
qualificar e explicar a crescente complexidade através da conectividade do mundo que
nos rodeia.
Nesta dissertação vamos estudar a perceção dos estudantes Cabo-Verdianos
sobre a importância da sua pegada digital na vida profissional futura e refletir sobre a
forma como o Ministério da Educação percepciona esta problemática, e qual é a
estratégia de acção que possui para apoiar os jovens nas suas decisões.
Today, we are witnessing the emergence of social networks as the primary Internet activity worldwide. By the social networks the World is now connected socially, strategically and technologically. This online social interconnectedness is a result from the convergence of platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Youtube, Flickr, Slideshare, Hi5, Digg, Delicious, Vimeo, etc. This is called the Web 2.0. Increasingly, institutions are discovering the possibilities and the potential these platforms could offer. However, the enthusiasm in using the networks and be always connected may compromise future carriers. Yet young people use these platforms in a carefree manner, regardless of issues such as privacy, security, and the potential effects of their actions on their own future. Researchers who focus on this area are struggling to quantify and explain the growing complexity and connectivity of the world around us. The objective of this thesis is to explore how Cape Verdean students perceive the importance of their digital footprint in their future carrier. In addition, the thesis reflects on how the Ministry of Education approaches this issue and what actions and strategy have been developed to support young people in their decisions.
