Abstract(s)
O teatro do oprimido (TO) visa a transformação pessoal e social, através da exploração de situações de opressão a que os participantes consideram estar sujeitos, incentivando e capacitando os indivíduos para agir sobre essas situações. O objetivo geral deste estudo foi explorar a influência percebida da participação de alunos do 3.º ciclo num grupo de TO no desenvolvimento socioemocional e envolvimento escolar. Trata-se de um estudo de caso, desenvolvido numa escola TEIP com uma amostra de sete participantes – a facilitadora do TO, três alunos participantes do TO, e os respetivos diretores de turma. A recolha de dados foi realizada com recurso a entrevistas individuais semiestruturadas. Os resultados obtidos pelos diferentes intervenientes do estudo apontam para a existência de mudanças positivas ao nível do bem-estar, desenvolvimento socioemocional e envolvimento escolar dos jovens, pelo que o TO poderá constituir-se como uma ferramenta pedagógica com impacto na promoção do desenvolvimento positivo e combate ao abandono precoce e insucesso escolar.
The theater of the Oppressed (TO) aims personal and social transformation, through the exploration of situations of oppression in which the participants feel they are subject, as well as encouraging and enabling individuals to act on these situations. The general objective of this study was to explore the perceived influence of the participation of 3rd cycle students in a TO group on their social-emotional development and school involvement. It is a case study, developed in a TEIP school (educational territory of priority intervention) with a sample of seven participants – the TO facilitator, three TO participating students, and the respective class directors. Data collection was carried out using semi-structured interviews. The results obtained by the different participants in the study point to the existence of positive changes in terms of well-being, socioemotional development and school involvement of young people, so that the TO can be a pedagogical tool with an impact on the social-emotional development and school involvement of young people.
