As experiências adversas na infância podem acometer repercussões ao longo do ciclo vital do indivíduo nos diversos contextos em que estes se inserem, nomeadamente no escolar, manifestando-se através de dificuldades na autorregulação emocional, no desenvolvimento de relacionamentos securizantes e no processo de aprendizagem. Assim, a escola como contexto privilegiado de contacto com crianças e jovens deve ter profissionais capacitados para gerir as demandas da adversidade e do trauma. Este estudo propõe-se a avaliar o impacto do Programa de Capacitação dos Cuidados Sensíveis ao Trauma para agentes educativos, implementado em agrupamento de escolas de um conselho do norte do País, reportando resultados no nível formativo em Cuidados Sensíveis ao Trauma dos profissionais avaliado em pré e pós teste, bem como a satisfação com o programa formativo. No pré-teste, os resultados evidenciaram a insuficiente preparação dos profissionais para intervir de forma sensível juntos dos seus alunos. Contudo, após a conclusão da formação houve um aumento significativo no nível formativo dos participantes sobre cuidados sensíveis ao trauma, assim como, satisfação elevada relativamente ao programa. Estes resultados, evidenciam que o programa de capacitação foi capaz de atingir o objetivo de elevar o nível formativo dos profissionais. A discussão remete para a pertinência de capacitar os agentes, para que se tornem mais competentes para sinalizar e responder ao trauma de forma eficaz.
Adverse childhood experiences can have repercussions throughout an individual's life cycle in various contexts, particularly at school, manifesting themselves through difficulties in emotional self-regulation, in the development of safe relationships and in the learning process. Therefore, schools, as a key setting for contact with children and teenagers, should have professionals trained to manage the challenges of adversity and trauma. This study aims to evaluate the impact of the Trauma-Sensitive Care Program for school professionals, implemented in a group of schools in municipality in the north of the country. It reports results regarding the participants´ training level in Trauma Sensitive Care, assessed at pre-and post- test, as well as their satisfaction with the training program. The pre-test results highlight professionals' insufficient preparation to intervene sensitively with their students. However, after completing the training, there was a significant increase in participants´ level of training in trauma-sensitive care, along with high satisfaction with the program. These results demonstrate that the training program successfully achieved its goal of improving the professionals 8level of training. The discussion highlights the importance of training educational agents to better identify and respond to trauma effectively.
