Abstract(s)
The literature has highlighted the relevance of individuals developing career adaptability, despite theoretical and technical competences, to adequately respond to the demands established by the academic and labor contexts. The present study intends to analyse the impact of work experiences on the career adaptability of higher education students. Participants included 130 higher education students, aged between 18 and 59 years old (M = 25.18). Data were collected through a Sociodemographic, Academic and Work Experience Questionnaire and through the Career Adaptability Scale: Higher Education Context. Data were analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Science software, through descriptive, correlational, and between-subject variance analyses. Based on the results obtained, work experiences seem to have an impact on career adaptability total, however, the results of the present study point to the absence of differences between groups in the dimensions of career adaptability. The need to continue with prospective studies, based on other samples of higher education students, is highlighted. The importance of developing career interventions in high education settings is also acknowledged.
