- A expansão do direito penal do inimigo na dogmática penal contemporâneaPublication . Albuquerque, Gabriel Henrique Mateus deNo atual contexto securitário temos assistido ao ressurgimento do Direito Penal do Inimigo nas políticas criminais. No cerne desta teoria está o tratamento diferenciado entre os cidadãos e os inimigos da sociedade. Enquanto aos primeiros se aplicam as regras decorrentes do Direito Penal comum, os segundos são privados de direitos, liberdades e garantias, quer substantivos como processuais. Neste estudo pretendemos expor os traços característicos desta teoria, começando pelas categorias de criminosos que são associados ao inimigo. De seguida, identificaremos o efeito expansivo que esta corrente tem assumido na dogmática penal contemporânea, aproveitando-se da crescente força que as correntes do populismo penal assumem para gradualmente minar os alicerces do Direito Penal liberal, assente na dignidade de toda e qualquer pessoa humana.

Desde o século XIX que, em Inglaterra, os símbolos natalícios se popularizaram e se vieram a disseminar pelo mundo. Pode concluir-se que para tal contribuiu decisivamente Charles Dickens que é geralmente responsável pela invenção do Natal no imaginário colectivo inglês. Esta associação estreita entre Dickens e o Natal decorre de um conjunto de publicações que se tornaram extraordinariamente populares, ainda em vida de Dickens, e continuam a manter, h oje ainda, muito da sua magia como expressões do Natal.

Barbosa, David SampaioO pedido da Irmã Lúcia de consagração do mundo e da Rússia ao Imaculado Coração de Maria teve uma resposta morosa. O pedido balizou-se por duas realidades que requeriam a maior das atenções: tratava-se de um pedido que de revelações particulares vinha e que, para a sua efetuação, se pedia a pessoa do Santo Padre, em comunhão com os bispos do mundo inteiro para o efeito convocados. Mencionar a Rússia no ato de consagração suscitava melindres de vária ordem. As várias consagrações que se fizeram, oito, refletem o entendimento que os papas tiveram do pedido a eles endereçado. Articularam bem a dimensão de consagração de práticas litúrgicas em curso com a consagração pedida, que se foi efetuando sempre num ambiente orante.
- A Praça do Martim Moniz e o Mercado de Fusão. Contributos para a análise dos conceitos de cosmpolitismo e cidadania cultural em políticas urbanasPublication . Caldas, Matilde VieiraThe use of complex and often polemic concepts such as multiculturalism, intercultural dialogue, cosmopolitanism and cultural citizenship has been growing in the urban policy debate amongst public institutions in Lisbon. Based on the particular case of the redevelopment of Praça do Martim Moniz this paper aims to understand how these concepts are shaping this debate and how they translate into specific urban policies. Amid these policies, cultural diversity has been often referred as a synonym of cosmopolitanism and regarded as a crucial resource for the city’s global competitive position. However, in the process of internationally promoting the city of Lisbon, it is important to discuss the relations between cultural diversity and the mediation role played by public institutions, gentrification phenomenon and marketing strategies, and question whether these may jeopardize the social dimension implied by the concept of cultural citizenship.

- A.R.t distorting reality: augmented immateriality in Mixed Signals by kennedy+swanPublication . Weinholtz, TeresaWith the rapid evolution of digital technology, both artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) become increasingly accessible to the general public. As a result, contemporary artists have begun incorporating these technologies into their work, expanding beyond the established mediums of the arts. In this paper, I study the artist’s book Mixed Signals (2023) by kennedy+swan, a contemporary iteration of the genre that merges the conventional codex of the book with the digital, by incorporating interactive AR elements into the work. Primarily characterised by their self-referentiality, artists’ books often turn the medium itself into the subject matter of the work. Accordingly, the simultaneously tactile and digital materiality of Mixed Signals is one of its central themes, along with commentary on the meaning of AI and other forms of non-human intelligence, expressed throughout a series of nature-themed watercolours that transform into interactive augmented artworks through a smartphone app. These complex virtual artworks, I argue, not only act as an expansion of the book’s narrative, but also constitute a contemporary form of artistic expression that merges the material and immaterial. I further suggest that Mixed Signals challenges the concept of an anthropocentric society through its technology-induced distortion of reality.

Hesiodic myth, as well as the narratives of Homer and the great dramatic authors, portray the first conception of this relation, depicted in many detailed forms. Plato, following Socrates’ teachings, proposes Goodness as that absolute difference, as the absolute ontological positivity that produces/creates being.
- Acceptability and feasibility of a midwifery intervention to promote active labour and decision-making: a qualitative study with women and nurse-midwivesPublication . Lopes, Marlene Isabel; Vieira, Margarida; Cardoso, AlexandrinaObjectives: To evaluate the acceptability and feasibility of a complex midwifery intervention, developed in line with the MRC Framework, designed to promote active labour and support informed decision-making. Methods: A qualitative study was conducted within community-based childbirth preparation programmes. The intervention was delivered by nurse-midwives in primary care. Semi-structured interviews with participating women and nurse-midwives were retrospectively analysed to explore perceptions of acceptability and feasibility. Results: Women generally perceived the intervention as highly acceptable, valuing the group format, experiential and reflective elements, and the sense of preparation and confidence gained. Many described enhanced self-efficacy and agency, often reinforced by partner support. However, some reported frustration when strategies could not be applied during labour, highlighting the limits of antenatal programmes in restrictive medical contexts. Midwives also considered the programme acceptable, recognising its innovative methodology, contribution to professional development, and positive impact on women. Feasibility was reflected in women’s accounts of experiential learning, scenario-based reflection, and printed materials as mediators of practice, with reported outcomes including mobility, autonomy, and more meaningful birth experiences, though institutional constraints sometimes limited active strategies. Midwives emphasised feasibility through strong motivation, the intervention’s low cost, and its integration into routine care, while also noting challenges such as limited space, large groups, and ambivalence towards the decision-making component. Conclusion: The intervention was acceptable to women and midwives and feasible for integration into childbirth preparation. Divergent perspectives revealed areas for refinement, underscoring the limits of antenatal programmes in medicalised contexts while highlighting the potential of context-sensitive, evidence-based interventions to strengthen women’s autonomy.
