Abstract(s)
O jornalismo televisivo tem vindo a sofrer mutações profundas que se fizeram sentir, essencialmente, com o desenvolvimento das novas tecnologias da comunicação e da informação. As mudanças projetaram-se em todo o processo de produção noticioso, nomeadamente, nos valores-notícia, que orientam o jornalista na seleção de um acontecimento mediático.
A nossa investigação conta com vários estudos feitos por académicos acerca desta matéria e que nos permitiram construir um quadro de valores-notícia mais atual e aplicado ao canal de serviço público RTP1. Nesse sentido, aliando a teoria à minha experiência prática enquanto estagiário curricular na Rádio e Televisão de Portugal, é apresentado também o meu percurso neste canal de serviço público, o qual me permitiu conhecer de perto a realidade jornalística da RTP1 e reunir material precioso para a minha investigação.
Numa era de “informação espetáculo”, onde os canais de televisão travam lutas desenfreadas entre si com o fim de atingir o máximo de audiências, estará o serviço público a seguir o mesmo registo? Quais são os valores-notícia e qual o valor da imagem nas aberturas do telejornal da RTP1?
Para dar resposta à nossa problemática, considerámos como metodologia a análise de conteúdo, onde identificamos os valores-notícia presentes nas primeiras notícias de abertura do telejornal da RTP1, numa análise que vai contar também com as variantes do género televisivo, temática e valor da imagem, no período entre 1 de janeiro a 31 de maio de 2015, uma amostra significativa e que nos permitiu perceber quais as categorias mais predominantes em cada um dos setores.
Um trabalho original e genuíno e que reflete o novo paradigma da televisão de serviço público em Portugal e os valores-notícia que ainda perduram e que são escolhidos como abertura do telejornal em Portugal, onde a negatividade e as imagens negativas constituem um requisito para assumir a primeira posição da grelha do alinhamento do noticiário da RTP1.
Broadcast Journalism has undergone profound changes that were felt primarily with the development of new communication and information technologies. Those changes were designed around the process of news production, in particular, the news values that guide the reporter in selecting a media event. Our research focus on several studies done by academics about this matter and that allowed us to build a framework of current news values that apply to the public service channel RTP1. In this sense, combining theory with my practical experience as an intern at Rádio e Televisão de Portugal, it’s also displayed my journey in this public service channel, which allowed me to get to know the journalistic reality of RTP1 and gather valuable material for my research. In an era of "information show" where the TV channels engage in rampant fights with each other in order to achieve maximum audience, is the public service following the same path? What are the news values and what is the value of the image in the TV Newscast openings of RTP1? To provide a answer to our problematic, we considered using the methodology content analysis, where we identified the news values present at the first news of the opening of the television news of RTP1, in an analysis which will also include variants of the television genre, theme, and image value, all in the period of 1 January to 31 May 2015, a significant sample that allowed us to understand what are the most prevalent categories in each of the sectors. A unique and genuine work that reflects the new paradigm of public service television in Portugal and the news values that still remain and are chosen as the opening of the newscast in Portugal, where negativity and negative images are a requirement to make the top of the grid alignment of the broadcast news of RTP1.
