Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação discorre sobre o Serviço Social, tendo como objetivo pensar e refletir sobre as práticas e a profissão de Serviço Social, analisando a experiência profissional de assistentes sociais à luz dos seguintes conceitos sensibilizadores: lógica da integração; lógica da estratégia e lógica da subjetivação.
Guiou-se pela abordagem metodológica da teoria enraizada (gounded theory), a qual decorre da opção por uma estratégia de investigação abdutiva.
Procurou-se argumentar de que modo essas diferentes lógicas de ação se encontram presentes no quotidiano e se revelam, através dos discursos recolhidos, nas perceções e convicções pessoais assim como nas justificações das ações e modos de trabalho.
Esta dissertação é composta por três secções nucleares, autónomas entre si, cada uma correspondendo a uma distinta lógica de ação.
Os principais propósitos consistem em contribuir para colmatar a “falta de clareza e sistematicidade no pensamento sobre a profissão” em Portugal (Amaro, 2009b: 36), e assim, romper com a “excessiva individualidade dos percursos intelectuais no Serviço Social português e a insipiência teórico-cientifica deste campo” (Ibid. 36).
As conclusões repartem-se pelas três secçõess constituintes da tese, que são, em síntese:
A lógica da integração permitiu constatar que na prática profissional quotidiana do Serviço Social persiste uma abordagem de manutenção e uma prática orientada pelos papéis executivos.
A lógica da estratégia permitiu apurar que a disputa pela jurisdição no campo profissional das profissões sociais está condicionada à capacidade do Serviço Social superar as suas debilidades e demarcar a sua posição por via da profissionalização.
A lógica da subjetivação permitiu evidenciar que é necessário, ao Serviço Social, um maior investimento numa atividade crítica, se se almeja um Serviço Social baseado em valores, uma prática de Serviço Social emancipatória e assistentes sociais comprometidos com a justiça social e a defesa do sujeito. Permitiu, ainda, mostrar que urge um maior conhecimento e reconhecimento da importância do designado Serviço Social culturalmente sensível.
This dissertation discusses Social Work, with the overall objective of thinking and reflect on the practice and profession of Social Work, analyzing the experience of social workers in the light of the following sensitizing concepts: logic of integration, logic of strategy and logic of subjectivation. This study was guided by the methodological approach of grounded theory, which arises from the choice of an abductive research strategy. We tried to argue how these different logics of action are present in everyday life and reveal, through the speeches collected, the perceptions and convictions as the explanations of actions and ways of work The dissertation is composed of three nuclear parts, independent from each other, representing a distinct logic of action. The main purposes has contributed to bridging the "lack of clarity and systematicity in thought about the profession" in Portugal (Amaro, 2009b: 36), and thus breaking the "excessive individuality of intellectual paths in Portuguese Social Work and foolishness this theoretical scientific field” (Ibid. 36). The findings are divided by three constituent parts of the thesis, which are, in summary: The logic of integration, have revealed that in the everyday practice of social work remains a maintenance approach and a practice oriented by executives roles. The logic of the strategy revealed that the dispute over jurisdiction in the professional field of social professions is subject to the ability of Social Work overcome their weaknesses and demarcate his position throug professionalization. The logic of subjectivation has highlighted the need of Social Work to increased investment in critical activity, if one aims a Social Work based on values, an emancipatory social work practice and social workers committed to social justice and advocacy. Also allowed us to show that urges greater awareness and recognition of the importance of culturally sensitive social work.
