A literatura em torno das boas práticas no acolhimento de refugiados tem enfatizado o papel do combate ao isolamento social, pela importância do estabelecimento de uma rede de relacionamento interpessoal para o bem-estar psicológico e sentido de pertença e inclusão –dimensões essenciais à integração bem-sucedida no país de acolhimento (Spencer, 2006; Beirens et al. 2007; Craig, 2015). Foi com o objetivo de promover estas redes de suporte social que nasceu O projeto APROXIMA da Associação MEERU. A presente dissertação visa contribuir para a avaliação do impacto deste projeto, procurando dar voz aos testemunhos da primeira geração de voluntários que por ele passaram, e almejando contribuir para a identificação das boas práticas e sugestões de melhoria, quer do ponto de vista do acolhimento de refugiados, quer do ponto de vista do modelo específico de atuação da MEERU Aproxima.
The literature on good practices in the reception of refugees has emphasized the role of combating social isolation, due to the importance of establishing a network of interpersonal relationships for psychological well-being and a sense of belonging and inclusion – essential dimensions to well-integration. in the host country (Spencer, 2006; Beirens et al. 2007; Craig,2015). It was with the aim of promoting these social support networks that the APROXIMA project of the MEERU Association was born. This dissertation aims to contribute to the assessment of the impact of this project, seeking to give voice to the testimonies of the first generation of volunteers who have gone through it, and aiming to contribute to the identification of good practices and suggestions for improvement, either from the point of view of welcoming refugees, or from the point of view of the specific model of action of MEERU Aproxima.
