Diante do decréscimo da pertença comunitária que se verifica no seio do
cristianismo, onde aumenta gradualmente o número daqueles que se declaram cristãos
mas não fazem decorrer daí uma pertença comunitária, o presente estudo pretende
caraterizar a exigência da «opção preferencial pelos pobres», central no modelo pastoral
do Papa Francisco, como uma proposta de revalorização da identidade comunitária da
experiência cristã.
Falar de pobreza requer um discurso sóbrio e consciente, um discurso que não
fique somente pelas palavras, mas que se concretize em gestos e ações que potenciem o
desenvolvimento integral das pessoas. Neste sentido, este estudo elabora uma
aproximação conceptual da pobreza, onde se evidenciam as dimensões económicas,
sociais e antropológicas, apresenta as raízes teológicas do pensamento e ação do Papa
Francisco, para que se compreenda como, na sua trajetória, se afirma esta opção
preferencial pelos pobres. Por fim, ensaia-se uma formulação de critérios para uma
pastoral comunitária valorizadora da opção preferencial pelos pobres.
In the face of a decline in community membership within Christianity, where a gradual increase in the number of those who declare themselves as Christians but do not give rise to community membership is observed, this study intends to characterize the demand for the "preferential option for the poor", pastoral model of Pope Francis, as a proposal to reassess the community identity of the Christian experience. To speak of poverty requires a somber and conscious speech, one that does not remain solely on the words, but which fulfills itself in gestures and actions that enhance the integral development of the people. In this sense, this study elaborates a conceptual approach to poverty, evidencing the economic, social and anthropological dimensions, and presents the theological fundaments of Pope Francis, in hope of a better understanding of this proposal as the preferential option the poor. At last, it is formulated a list of criteria for a pastoral community which values the preferential option for the poor.
