| dc.description.abstract | Os enormes progressos na área da saúde dos últimos séculos facultam aos profissionais de saúde um conjunto de conhecimentos nunca antes contidos tanto ao nível anátomo-fisiológico e patológico como ao nível dos recursos e técnicas de tratamento. No entanto, em muitas instituições de saúde, ao mesmo tempo que se observa um progresso notável no se refere à investigação científica e ao desenvolvimento técnico, também parece verificar-se um grande défice na relação humana, que origina um elevado nível de insatisfação nos doentes com os cuidados prestados. Assim, o estabelecimento de uma política de Humanização que evidencie o verdadeiro significado do ―Cuidar‖ torna-se imprescindível. Como caminho para tal desígnio, propomos a recuperação da compreensão da relação entre a vulnerabilidade humana e o cuidar - variáveis centrais do presente estudo, consubstanciadas na questão de investigação: será que a representação da vulnerabilidade humana influencia a prática do cuidar em saúde? São, por isso, objetivos deste estudo perceber qual a representação da vulnerabilidade humana, quais os atributos do cuidar mais valorizados, qual a influência tecnológica nos cuidadores de saúde e qual a relação entre a representação da vulnerabilidade humana, os atributos do cuidar e a influência tecnológica. Trata-se de um estudo correlacional, preditivo e transversal, desenvolvido em três fases distintas: estudo preliminar1 (construção e seleção de instrumentos de medida), estudo preliminar 2 (adaptação e validação dos instrumentos - TIQ, CAQ e ERVH) e estudo final (aplicação dos instrumentos validados). O estudo final foi realizado numa amostra (não probabilística de conveniência) composta por 1213 cuidadores (médicos, enfermeiros, estudantes de medicina e estudantes de enfermagem). Os principais resultados indicam-nos que: i) A representação da vulnerabilidade humana dos cuidadores assenta em 2 dimensões: a ontológica e a natural, mas apesar deste realce são capazes de identificar no sujeito de cuidados situações de vulnerabilidade de dimensão ética, social e cultural; ii) Há diferenças significativas na representação da vulnerabilidade entre os distintos grupos de cuidadores estudados; iii) Em relação aos atributos do cuidar, os resultados obtidos, em grande parte altos, indicam que, no geral, os cuidadores valorizam o cuidar, surgindo diferenças significativas entre os grupos estudados; iv) Os cuidadores com médias mais elevadas na escala da representação da vulnerabilidade humana obtêm médias mais elevadas no questionário dos atributos do cuidar. Pensamos poder concluir que a representação da vulnerabilidade humana pode ser o motor para a adoção de um paradigma do cuidar em saúde, pelo que nos parece ser importante, num futuro próximo, desenvolver uma pedagogia da vulnerabilidade capaz de transformar os futuros cuidadores em veículos de humanização. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The enormous progress in health in the last few centuries provided health professionals with a set of knowledge never before contained both at the anatomical-physiological and pathological level but also at the level of resources and treatment techniques. However, in many health institutions, while we observe a remarkable progress in relation to scientific research and technical development, there also seems to be a large deficit in human relationship, which causes a high level of patients‘ dissatisfaction with the treatments provided at these institutions. Thus, the establishment of a Humanization policy which illustrates the true meaning of "Caring" becomes essential. Baring this aim in mind we propose a retrieval of understanding the relationship between Human vulnerability and caring - key variables of this study, embodied in the research question: does the representation of human vulnerability influences practice in health care? Therefore, this study aims to understand what the representation of human vulnerability is, which care attributes are most valued, which the technological influence on health care providers is and what the relationship between the representation of human vulnerability, the attributes of care and the technological influence is. This is a correlational, predictive and cross-sectional study conducted in three distinct phases: preliminary study 1 (construction and selection of measuring instruments), preliminary study 2 (adaptation and validation of instruments - TIQ, CAQ and ERVH) and final study (application of the validated instruments). The final study was conducted in a sample (non-probabilistic convenience) composed by 1213 caregivers (doctors, nurses, medical students and nursing students). The main results indicate us that: i) The representation of the human vulnerability of caregivers is based on 2 dimensions: ontological and natural, but despite this enhancement they are able to identify on the subject of care situations of vulnerability in an ethical, a social and a cultural dimension; ii) There are significant differences in the representation of vulnerability among the different groups of caregivers studied; iii) In relation to the attributes of care results are, in large part high, indicate that, in general, caregivers value the care, surging significant differences between the studied groups; iv) Caregivers with the highest average on the representation of human vulnerability scale obtain higher means on the attributes of care questionnaire. We can conclude that the representation of human vulnerability can be the engine for the adoption of a paradigm in health care, so it seems to be important in the near future, to develop a vulnerability pedagogy which can transform the future caregivers in vehicles of humanization. | pt_PT |
