Abstract(s)
This correlational research set out to study the relationship between job satisfaction, happiness and mental health in a sample of 63 professionally active subjects in order to understand more clearly the relationship between the study variables. In terms of the hypotheses we sought to study the differences in job satisfaction, happiness and mental health. It was also analyzed the gender differences with regard to job satisfaction, happiness and mental health, the differences between different types of labor functions in relation to job satisfaction, happiness and mental health differences between different levels of education relation to job satisfaction, happiness and mental health, and finally the differences between ages in respect to the variables under study. These hypotheses were tested with the help of socio-demographic questionnaire, the scale of job satisfaction, subjective happiness scale and mental health inventory. The results of our investigation indicate that subjects more satisfied professionally are not always happier and have better mental health. However, the results indicate that subjects more satisfied professionally present greater psychological distress and greater loss of control and that subjects more satisfied with their supervisiors have greater mental health, well-being, positive affect, distress and loss of control
