Abstract(s)
A dissertação apresentada foi realizada no âmbito do mestrado em Psicologia da Justiça e do Comportamento Desviante, na Universidade Católica do Porto, enquadrada no projeto de investigação “Gender, Identity and Migrations” (Matos, 2016). Privilegiando os temas inerentes ao projeto, o enfoque principal do presente estudo são as relações interpessoais estabelecidas por mulheres de nacionalidade estrangeira, em contexto prisional português. Entenda-se a assunção de relações no contexto, como aquelas que são estabelecidas no interior da prisão, bem como as que se mantêm ou se dissiparam no seu exterior. Importa realçar a observação da ligação mútua que pode ocorrer nessas duas grandes categorias. O estudo parte de uma breve caracterização de 23 reclusas de nacionalidade estrangeira a cumprir pena no Norte de Portugal, e assenta nas perspetivas de duas reclusas representativas da principal nacionalidade – brasileira – e tipo de crime – tráfico de estupefacientes – encontrados nesse grupo. Os principais resultados demonstram diversos constrangimentos, tais como geográficos e financeiros, para que as relações familiares constituam uma dimensão relevante de apoio durante a reclusão. Na forma como perspetivam as relações com outras reclusas, são evidentes algumas ambivalências. Por fim, experienciam a presença de estereótipos e preconceitos baseados no facto de serem mulheres estrangeiras por parte de diferentes entidades e instituições.
The dissertation presented was in the scope of the Master in Psychology of Justice and Deviant Behavior, at the Catholic University of Porto, framed in the research project "Gender, Identity and Migrations" (Matos, 2016). Prioritizing the themes inherent to the project, the focus of this study is the interpersonal relations established by women of foreign nationality, in a Portuguese prison context. It is understood the assumption of relations in the context, such as those established inside the prison, as well as those that are maintained or dissipated on the outside. It is important to highlight the observation of the mutual connection that can occur in these two major categories. The study starts from a brief characterisation of 23 inmates of foreign nationality serving a sentence in the north of Portugal and is based on the perspectives of two inmates representing the main nationality - Brazilian - and type of crime - drug trafficking - found in that group. The main results show several constraints, such as geographical and financial, for family relations to constitute a relevant dimension of support during imprisonment. In the way they view relations with other inmates, some ambivalences are evident. Finally, they experience the presence of stereotypes and prejudices since they are foreign women by different entities and institutions.
