Abstract(s)
The current work arises from a Masters’ in Social Service curricular internship, taken in Casa Pia de Lisboa, specifically in the monitoring team to the insertion. The first phase of the internship was all about integration and knowledge of the institution and population, a second phase focused on the interaction with the young people and respective families, and the awareness of its characteristics, problems and potentialities, and lastly an active phase of participation and intervention discussion. Along these lines, there were eight children and teenagers’ reunification processes accompanied. Through the internship’s course there was an attempt to meditate on the intervention’s critical and force factors in a family reunification context, starting from an ecossistemic perspective which considers aspects that are analyzed from the dynamics of the factors implied in those families lives. Results point to the importance of intra and extra-familiar factors in the intervention, as well as the importance of the role the team plays in the intervention processes and the way it sees the family. On the other hand, the family's capability appears as an unavoidable factor of intervention. This way, the role of the professional is to support the families so that they strengthen their patrimony and develop the necessary resources to change, intervening to raise the families' capacity and consciousness of what their potentialities are, and to provide the auxiliary tools to the construction of integrated trajectories.
