Abstract(s)
respetivos utentes.
This master's thesis consists of a quantitative study, referring to visits to institutionalized elderly in Residential Structures for the Elderly (ERPI) in the city of Fafe. This study includes six institutions located in the city of Fafe, two of which are more centrally located in relation to the city center and four are located on the outskirts of the city. From each institution, ten users were randomly selected to be part of the sample of this study. During a year, at four previously selected times of the year, all visits that users participating in the study received were recorded, recording some information regarding them. We conclude that there are visits to institutionalized users in ERPI in the city of Fafe, although they do not show a regularity pattern. Most users are visited by their closest family members; with regard to the extended family, although there are records of some visits, they do not translate into significant numbers. The pattern of visits is common to most institutions in the municipality of Fafe and most of the respective users.
