Abstract(s)
Responding to the mandatory lockdown, decreed due the COVID-19 pandemic, telework emerged as the solution adopted by organizations to avoid losing their productivity and to achieve their proposed goals. Thus, the aims of this work were to (1) compare teleworking workers and leaders, namely their perceptions of productivity, professional support received, and intention to remain in teleworking (quantitative study); and (2) explore how leaders perceive their own skills and the skills of their team, as well as their strategies to motivate and manage their teams during COVID-19 (qualitative study). For the quantitative study, data was collected from 2757 workers who completed an online questionnaire. The results of this study showed that employees have a higher perception of their productivity than their leadership, and also reinforced the importance of professional support in productivity and intention to remain in telework. For the qualitative study, 10 workers and 10 leaders were interviewed, who considered essential the skills of autonomy, communication, organization and flexibility for success in this regime, as well as the importance of strategies related to professional support, communication, schedule and use of equipment and software.
