Abstract(s)
O conceito de criança tem vindo a evoluir ao longo dos tempos, ocupando hoje um lugar de destaque na sociedade e, em particular, na família. Devido às suas particularidades, a criança requer diferentes tipos de cuidados de enfermagem, que dependem do seu estado de saúde, da sua fase de desenvolvimento e da sua cultura. Isso exige que os Enfermeiros que cuidam destas crianças possuam um conjunto de competências específicas na área de Enfermagem de Saúde Infantil e Pediátrica, que visem prestar cuidados de excelência ao binómio criança e família. Integrado no 16º Curso de Mestrado em Enfermagem com Especialização em Enfermagem de Saúde Infantil e Pediátrica, do Instituto de Saúde do Porto da Universidade Católica Portuguesa, no âmbito da Unidade Curricular - Estágio Final e Relatório, a elaboração deste relatório, tem como objetivo apresentar o percurso desenvolvido ao longo do estágio, em contexto de cuidados intensivos neonatais, serviço de urgência pediátrica e cuidados de saúde primários. Foi utilizada uma metodologia descritiva e crítico-reflexiva, de modo a demonstrar como atingi as competências especificas propostas para este ciclo de estudos, através dos objetivos que tracei nos diferentes contextos de estágio e das atividades que desenvolvi para os alcançar, fundamentadas na melhor evidência científica disponível. Ao longo deste percurso, ficou demonstrado o destaque de várias áreas de atuação do enfermeiro especialista em enfermagem de saúde infantil e pediátrica. Entre elas, a comunicação com a criança e família, as situações de especial complexidade, os cuidados centrados no desenvolvimento, a promoção da parentalidade, a parceria de cuidados, a promoção da saúde infantil e juvenil. Foi igualmente reconhecido o papel incontestável do enfermeiro especialista nas áreas de Gestão, Formação e Investigação com o objetivo de garantir a segurança e excelência dos cuidados. Este processo formativo constituiu um contributo fundamental para a aquisição e consolidação de competências e para o meu crescimento pessoal e profissional, o que permitiu a melhoria da qualidade dos cuidados que presto à criança, jovem e sua família.
The child notion has been evolving over time, occupying nowadays an obvious place in the society, particularly, in the family. Due to their particularities, children require different types of nursing care, that depend on their health status, stage of development and culture. This requires that nurses who care for these children have a set of specific skills in Child and Pediatric Health Nursing, which aim to provide excellent care to the child and family. As part of the 16th Master's Degree in Nursing with Specialization in Child and Pediatric Health Nursing, at the Porto Health Institute of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, within the scope of the Curricular Unit - Final Internship and Report, this report was prepared, with the aim of present the journey developed throughout the internship, in the context of neonatal intensive care, pediatric emergency services and primary health care. A descriptive and critical-reflexive methodology was used, to demonstrate how I achieved the specific skills proposed for this cycle of studies, through the goals I set in the different internship contexts and the activities I developed to achieve them, based on the best scientific evidence available. Along this path, the importance of several areas of expertise of nurses specializing in child and pediatric health was demonstrated. Among them, communication with the child and family, situations of special complexity, developmental centered care, the promotion of parenting, care partnerships, the promotion of child and youth health. The undeniable role of the specialist nurse in the areas of Management, Training and Research was also recognized, ensuring safety and excellence in care. This training process made a fundamental contribution to my skills acquisition and consolidation and to my personal and professional growth, which allowed me to improve the quality of care I provide to children, young people and their families.
