A presente dissertação tem como objeto de estudo, as perceções de colaboradores e as políticas e práticas de gestão relativamente às temáticas da liderança feminina e da igualdade de género desenvolvidas e aplicadas pela firma PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC). De forma a dar resposta às questões de investigação “Que políticas e práticas de gestão são mobilizadas pela empresa em estudo sobre as questões de género relacionadas com lideranças e evoluções das trajetórias profissionais?” e, “Que perceções têm os diversos atores/protagonistas da empresa sobre a liderança no feminino e sobre as práticas da gestão nesta área de intervenção?”, foi desenvolvido um estudo de caso no departamento Tax, Reporting & Strategy (TRS). A abordagem metodológica de natureza qualitativa baseou-se em técnicas de análise documental, observação participante e entrevistas semiestruturadas analisada através a análise de conteúdo. Os principais resultados obtidos transparecem a posição dos participantes destacando a naturalização das diferenças de género e a homogeneidade de género, sendo apontado diversos fatores influenciadores de estilo de liderança. Sobre práticas e políticas de gestão promotoras de igualdade de género, numa perspetiva nacional, torna-se evidente a preocupação atual sobre as políticas de cotas. Numa perspetiva empresarial, é também evidente que os participantes caracterizam a PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) como uma firma que assenta a sua cultura organizacional em boas práticas que se afastam dos estereótipos negativos sobre o sexo feminino desenvolvidos pela esfera social.
This thesis has as target and the management policies and practices regarding the themes of female leadership and gender equality developed and applied by PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC). In order to provide an answer to the central investigation question "Which management policies and practices are mobilized by the company concerning gender matters relates with a leadership and the evolution of professional trajectories?" and "What perceptions have the different agents about their company regarding the woman leadership and concerning the management practices in this particular area of intervention?". The case study was develop in the department Tax, Reporting & Strategy (TRS). The methodological tools used for collecting data were the following: documental analysis, observing participation and semi-structured interview. The data obtained were analyze through the qualitative analysis method by categories, developed by Bardin. The main results obtained show the position of the participants highlighting the naturalization of gender differences and the gender homogeneity, being identified several factors that influence the leadership style. Concerning the management practices and policies that promote the gender equality, in a national perspective, it becomes evident the actual concern regarding the Quota Policy. In a business perspective, it is also evident that the participants consider PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a company that sustains its organizational culture in good practices that are distant of any stereotypes regarding the feminine gender developed by the social sphere.
