Resumo(s)
The school autonomy has been known at least by the successive Governments in the normative and
discursive spheres, but its implementation assumes its ownership by the school actors and the ability to
achieve it.
In this lecture, we present a survey on a project of middle school management reorganization inspired
by the Educational Teams model, designed as a strategic intervention plan taking into account the weaknesses highlighted in the evaluation process. The study aims to know the perspectives of educational
actors on the procedure of the model understand autonomy in the exercise of middle management
positions and analyze the impact of the model in school organizational improvement.
In the study, we chose a qualitative methodology, focusing on research-action (praxiological research)
because it is a reflective process, allows you to collect systematic information in order to promote changes
and allows teachers to deal with the challenges and problems of practice and to adopt innovations in a
reflective way. The study focused on the middle pedagogical management practices and on the increment
of collaboration practices and organization of the teachers work and used the participant observation and
the interview to students, teachers, operational assistants and parents, as techniques and data collection
tools as well as the analysis of documents produced at school.
Although the study is not yet complete, we can already present some provisional results, particularly
in regard to the potential of the model to overcome the weaknesses initially identified in the areas of
curriculum articulation, pedagogical coordination and intervention capacity of middle management
members.
