O setor vitivinícola português, alicerçado numa rica tradição secular, encontra-se num momento de potencial transformação através da tecnologia Blockchain. Esta investigação explora como esta tecnologia emergente pode modernizar o setor, focando-se particularmente no seu potencial para aumentar a transparência, garantir a autenticidade e aprofundar o envolvimento do consumidor. Através de uma metodologia quantitativa, que combinou inquéritos a consumidores e produtores com análises estatísticas, o estudo revelou padrões interessantes nas perceções dos diferentes intervenientes do setor. As análises demonstraram um alinhamento notável entre consumidores e produtores nas dimensões de rastreabilidade e autenticidade, sugerindo uma base sólida para a implementação de soluções Blockchain. O estudo identificou diferenças estatisticamente significativas no envolvimento digital entre consumidores e produtores, com os consumidores a demonstrarem níveis consistentemente superiores de envolvimento. A análise evidenciou ainda padrões distintos baseados em características específicas dos intervenientes. Esta investigação fornece um contributo significativo para o setor vitivinícola português ao apresentar recomendações práticas e fundamentadas estatisticamente para a suporte de implementação de soluções Blockchain.
The Portuguese wine sector, grounded in a rich centuries-old tradition, finds itself at a moment of potential transformation through Blockchain technology. This research explores how this emerging technology can modernise the sector, focusing particularly on its potential to enhance transparency, ensure authenticity, and deepen consumer engagement. Through quantitative methodology, combining consumer and producer surveys with statistical analyses, the study revealed compelling patterns in the perceptions of different sector stakeholders. The analyses demonstrated a remarkable alignment between consumers and producers in the dimensions of traceability and authenticity, suggesting a solid foundation for implementing Blockchain solutions. The study identified statistically significant differences in digital engagement between consumers and producers, with consumers demonstrating consistently higher levels of engagement. Furthermore, the analysis revealed distinct patterns based on specific stakeholder characteristics. This research provides a significant contribution to the Portuguese wine sector by presenting statistically-grounded, practical recommendations for supporting the implementation of Blockchain solutions.
