Understanding Parallelism between the Timorese Indigenous Beliefs and the Christian Faith is Essential in Evangelization and Catechesis for Greater Conversion and Transformation. The thesis aims to present the parallel perspectives in the act of worship and in the idea of communion together with a critical analysis about the reality studied. The results of our study, by observing, analyzing and comparing, revealed that certain elements of the religious indigenous practices and the meanings of their major religious-cultural symbols are parallel with those of the Christian faith. This should serve as a foundation for the dialogue between the Church and the local culture. In the critical analysis we also identified some obstacles that had slowed down the process of Christianization in Timor-Leste.pt_PT
