Abstract(s)
grávidas do ACES do Alto Ave. Foram utilizadas as versões portuguesas do Antenatal
Emotional Attachement Scale, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory e Relationshiop Questionnaire.
Estes dados indicam a
The state of pregnancy, physically conditioned to woman, does not exclude the involvement of the father, particularly during pregnancy. The bond between father and fetus starts at the beginning of the gestational period, demonstrating males this involvement through interaction with their companion’s belly, emotional support to the pregnant and presence in obstetric visits. This bond is considered an direct link mediated by mother nature, developed through internal representations made throughout pregnancy. This cross sectional study intends, an main goal, to characterize a sample of men, future fathers during thin companion’s pregnancy in terms of prenatal entailment, anxiety and quality of marital relationship. The sample consisted of 61 men pregnant fellow users of ACES Alto. Portuguese versions of the Antenatal Emotional Attachment Scale, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory and Relationship Questionnaire were used as research tools. The results indicated that during the gestational period participants revealed a strong and healthy attachment to fetus, levels of state anxiety lower than trait anxiety as well as the perception of more positive than negative aspects in marital relationship. It was also demonstrated that older participants have a lower quality bond to the fetus and a more negative perception of the marital relationship. These data indicate the need for further.
