Abstract(s)
O presente relatório apresenta uma análise sobre dois temas que fazem parte do
universo empresarial - a liderança, estudada na realidade organizacional da Microsoft
Portugal, e as diferentes estratégias de comunicação utilizadas pelo líder para trabalhar
com uma equipe heterogênea, formada por pessoas com objetivos individuais e grupais
diversos.
A Microsoft Corporation é uma multinacional norte-americana fundada por Bill Gates e
Paul Allen em 1975 e atua no setor de tecnologias da informação e comunicação. Sua
sucursal portuguesa surgiu em 1990 e, desde então, se dedicou a desenvolver atividades
destinadas à promover a indústria de software, além de dar a conhecer e gerar maior
utilização dos produtos de software. Em Portugal, foi eleita a melhor empresa para se
trabalhar no país vários anos, e conhecida pela cultura empresarial orientada para
resultados e objetivos.
Este relatório foi produzido em função da experiência adquirida como Junior Product
Marketing Development Tools no estágio realizado no Developer & Platform
Evangelism (DPE) na Microsoft Portugal. O DPE segue uma estrutura organizacional
formada por cinco managers, cada um focado em um ou mais produtos (com a ajuda de
seus estagiários), sob a supervisão de um líder - o DPE Lead. O estágio consistiu,
sobretudo, no desenvolvimento de ações de marketing voltadas para um tipo específico
de público-alvo que será caracterizado posteriormente.
O estudo pretende analisar o caso de uma liderança versátil necessária para um
departamento composto por pessoas que cuidam de produtos diferentes, mas
compartilham um mesmo objetivo comum. Além disso, a pesquisa visa classificar o
estilo de liderança do líder do DPE, bem como seus desafios, habilidades e modo de
gestão de uma equipe de alta performance.
This work pretends to present an analysis on two subjects that are part of the business world – leadership, applied to the organizational structure of Microsoft Portugal, and the strategic differences in communications used by the leader while working with a heterogeneous team, formed by people that have, not only group objectives, but also individual ones. The Microsoft Corporation is a North-American multinational founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen in 1975 directed at the technology sector. Its Portuguese branch appeared in 1990 and since then it has been devoted to developing activities destined to promote the national software industry, in addition to increasing the general knowledge and proliferation of software products. Nowadays, in Portugal, it’s remembered by having been elected several times as “The Best Place to Work”, and also due to its business culture oriented to results and objectives. This work comes as a result of the experience acquired as a Junior Product Marketing Development Tools in the internship done at Microsoft’s Portugal DPE (Developer & Platform Evangelism). DPE follows an organizational structure formed by five managers, each one with a focus in one or more products (with the help of their interns), under the supervision of a leader – the DPE Lead. The internship was mainly about developing Marketing events targeting a specific group of people, which will be depicted later on. The study pretends to analyse the versatile leadership case needed for a department build by people with different products under their responsibility, but with a common goal. Besides, the research intends to classify the DPE’s leadership style, as well as its challenges, abilities and the managing style of a high performance team.
