A aposentadoria é considerada afastamento do trabalho e percebida como uma das
perdas mais importantes da vida social do idoso. O presente estudo versa sobre os
idosos que aposentam e retornam ao mercado de trabalho remunerado. Nesses
casos, o trabalho não parece representar apenas a subsistência, mas uma
oportunidade de valorização, desenvolvimento pessoal, autonomia e independência.
Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo investigar as razões que levam idosos brasileiros
a retornarem ao mercado de trabalho após a aposentadoria mediante o estudo do
perfil dos idosos, da importância do trabalho para a qualidade de vida do idoso e do
impacto econômico das aposentadorias para o sistema previdenciário. Utilizou-se do
método quantitativo com dados colhidos por meio de questionário aplicado a 100
(cem) idosos aposentados. Pessoa idosa no Brasil é aquela com 60 (sessenta) anos
ou mais conforme o Estatuto do Idoso e, para as pessoas dessa faixa etária, arrumar
emprego não é uma tarefa simples, pois concorrem às vagas com pessoas mais
jovens que, para as empresas, têm ideias mais novas, são mais criativos e sabem
lidar com a tecnologia. No tocante aos resultados, o estudo revelou que 52% dos
idosos que aposentam retornam ao mercado de trabalho remunerado e
aproximadamente a metade deles vai para o mercado informal. O perfil dos idosos
aposentados que retornaram ao trabalho remunerado é: gênero masculino e chefes
de família; aposentaram-se por tempo de contribuição e possuem nível superior de
escolaridade. O trabalho é fator determinante para a qualidade de vida, já que
influencia no desenvolvimento físico, cognitivo e emocional. Para a previdência
social, é relevante o trabalho do idoso aposentado, desde que formal, já que ele volta
a ser um contribuinte. Concluiu-se que o trabalho é importante para o idoso
aposentado, principalmente se relacionado à necessidade de aumentar os
rendimentos para sustentar a família.

The present study deals with the elderly who retire and return to the paid work market. In these cases, work does not seem to represent only a source of income, but an opportunity for valorization, personal development, autonomy and independence. This research aimed to investigate the reasons that lead the Brazilian elderly to return to the job market after retirement after the study of the profiler of the elderly, the importance of work to the quality of life of the elderly and the economical impact of the retirements, or of the continuation in the job market, for the social security system. It was used of the quantitative method with data picked through applied questionnaire to 100 (a hundred) retired seniors. Senior person in Brazil is that with 60 (sixty) years or more according to the Senior’s Statute. For the people of that age group, to arrange job is not a simple task, because they compete to the vacancies with younger people. The businesses justify the preference for the more youths, affirming that those have newer ideas, agility, they are more creative and they know how to work with the technology. With regard to the results, the study revealed that 52% of the seniors that retire return to the paid job market and approximately half them go to the informal market. The profile of elderly retirees who returned to paid work are: male gender and heads of household; retired by contribution time and have a higher level of schooling. Work is a determining factor for the quality of life, since it influences physical, cognitive and emotional development. For social security, the work of the retired elderly is relevant, as long as it is formal, since he is once again a contributor. It was concluded that the work is important for the retired elderly, especially if related to the need to increase the income to support the family. .
