Abstract(s)
O objetivo primordial deste estudo foca-se em compreender e avaliar a
importância da liderança nas equipas dentro das organizações. Na literatura, o papel da
liderança tem sido destacado como sendo determinante no funcionamento das
organizações com o propósito de melhorar não só o desempenho dos membros, mas
também como meio de atenuar possíveis desacordos laborais que possam surgir na
equipa. No presente estudo, com uma amostra de 169 trabalhadores Portugueses,
analisou-se a relação entre o estilo de liderança transformacional e a qualidade da
relação da equipa (i.e., TMX), bem como a relação entre o estilo de liderança
transacional e a qualidade da relação da equipa (i.e., Team-Member Exchange – TMX).
Os resultados deste estudo, sugerem que os dois estilos de liderança contribuem
positivamente para a qualidade da relação da equipa. No entanto, quando os dois estilos
de liderança são analisados em simultâneo, isto é, incluídos num mesmo modelo
concetual, essa relação positiva deixa de existir.
The primary objective of this study focuses on understanding and evaluating the importance of leadership in teams within organizations. In the literature, the role of leadership has been highlighted as being decisive in the functioning of organizations to improve not only the performance of members but also as a means of alleviating possible labor disagreements that may arise in the team. In the present study, with a sample of 169 Portuguese workers, the relationship between transformational leadership and the quality of the team relationship (i.e., Team-Member Exchange – TMX) was analyzed, as well as the relationship between transactional leadership and the quality of the team relationship (i.e., TMX). The results of the present study showed the two of leadership as contributing positively to the quality of the team. However, when the two styles of leadership were analyzed at the same time, that is, included in the same conceptual model, the positive relationship ceases to exist.
