O presente estudo qualitativo procurou compreender a perceção de jovens adultos sobre a vivência da relação coparental dos pais que se divorciaram durante a infância, adolescência ou início da idade adulta dos filhos. Foram realizadas entrevistas com 5 jovens adultos (4 do género feminino e 1 do género masculino), com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e os 29 anos, que residem na área do grande Porto. Os participantes foram convidados a refletir, através de um guião de entrevista semiestruturado, sobre a interação do pai e da mãe antes e depois do divórcio, os fatores que influenciaram essa relação, e a perceção sobre as principais mudanças sentidas na relação coparental ao longo do tempo. Os resultados parecem sugerir que os filhos têm mais presente a relação coparental durante o casamento dos pais. Esta quebra perante a fase do pós-divórcio faz emergir um conjunto de características negativas que se explicam pela ausência da relação coparental após o divórcio. As características negativas do pai e da mãe no casamento, são vistos como dificuldades em manter a relação coparental no pós-divórcio, e que se verifica através dos desafios emocionais para cada um dos intervenientes. Destaca-se o impacto positivo da separação para todos os intervenientes.
This qualitative study sought to understand the perception of young adults on the experience of coparental list of parents who divorced during childhood, adolescence or early adulthood of the children. Interviews were conducted with five young adults (4 females and 1 male), aged between 18 and 29 years, residing in the area of Oporto. Participants were asked to reflect, through a semi-structured interview guide on the father's and mother’s nteraction before and after the divorce, the factors influencing this relationship, and the perception about the main changes experienced in coparental relationship over time. The results seem to suggest that children are more present at coparental respect for the parents' marriage. This fall before the phase of post-divorce brings out a set of negative characteristics that explain the absence of coparental relationship after divorce. Dad's and mother negative characteristics at the wedding, are seen as difficulties in maintaining coparental relationship post-divorce, and that there is through the emotional challenges for each of the players. It highlights the positive impact of separation for all stakeholders.
