Este trabalho tem como objetivo ir ao encontro das interrogações dos alunos de
Educação Moral Religiosa Católica (EMRC), numa clarificação da dignidade da pessoa
humana, na confrontação com a problemática do sofrimento humano. Pretende uma
definição atualizada do termo dignidade, desde a Bíblia, passando pelo pensamento
filosófico, o magistério da Igreja e terminando com uma visão contemporânea e a sua
relação com a biomedicina, na questão do sofrimento. É um tema fundamental para a
educação dos jovens no respeito da dignidade humana, procurando contribuir para um
maior humanização.
This dissertation aims to go in encounter of the questions of the students of Catholic Moral and Religious Education, in a clarification of the dignity of the human person, in a confrontation with the problem of human suffering. It seeks an actualized definition of the term dignity, from the Bible, through the philosophical thought, to the teaching of the Church, ending with a contemporary view and its relation to biomedicine in the question of suffering. It is a fundamental theme for the education of young people in the respect of human dignity, searching to contribute to a greater humanization.
