A presente dissertação procura desvelar uma aproximação e possíveis linhas
interpretativas ao conceito de profeta aplicado à pessoa de Jesus de Nazaré pelos teólogos
Oscar Cullmann e Edward Schillebeeckx. Para isso, começa-se por situar o profetismo
bíblico no decorrer da história. Com efeito, neste discorrer, o autor sagrado serve-se de
uma tradição oral que utiliza o termo nāḇî para falar dos profetas de Israel. Na tentativa
de compreender e aprofundar este termo, investiga-se a sua relação, primeiramente, com
os termos similares e, posteriormente, com os fenómenos de cessação dos profetas e o
florescimento apocalíptico até ao período terreno da vida de Jesus de Nazaré. De seguida,
adentra-se no mundo judaico ao tempo de Jesus com os seus múltiplos grupos religiosos
e dinâmicas proféticas e messiânicas, com o propósito de melhor aceder às teologias de
Cullmann e Schillebeeckx. No fundo, visa-se compreender quais as tónicas das suas
cristologias em geral, e as considerações proféticas e escatológicas associadas à pessoa
de Jesus em particular. Delineia-se, assim, uma compreensão bíblico-teológica da
tipologia profética essencialmente nos quatro evangelhos canónicos, estuda-se a
formulação do título de profeta escatológico, investiga-se a sua dimensão paradoxal e
polémica e, por fim, faz-se uma releitura do alcance e dos limites do título de profeta.
This dissertation aims at unravelling possible interpretative lines regarding the appliance of the concept prophet to the person of Jesus of Nazareth, with an approximation to the work developed by the theologians Oscar Cullmann and Edward Schillebeeckx. We begin by situating the biblical prophecy in the course of history. The sacred author employs an oral tradition that uses the term nāḇî to speak of the prophets of Israel. In an attempt to understand and strengthen this term, we firstly inquiry into its relations with similar terms; and secondly, we investigate its links with the phenomena of the cessation of the prophets, and the apocalyptic blossoming to the earthly period of the life of Jesus of Nazareth. To better understand the theologies of Cullmann and Schillebeeckx, the study explores the Jewish world at the time of Jesus, with its multiple religious groups and prophetic and messianic dynamics. We intend to understand the components of their Christologies, as well as the prophetic and eschatological considerations associated with the person of Jesus. Here we present a biblical-theological comprehension of the prophetic typology, in the four canonical gospels; the study of the formulation of the title of eschatological prophet, on its paradoxical and controversial dimension; and finally, a review of the scope and limits of the title of prophet.
