Abstract(s)
Introdução: Hoje em dia, devido às exigências estéticas por parte dos pacientes
e aos inconvenientes que apresentam os tratamentos ortodônticos
convencionais, tem vindo a aumentar a utilização de sistemas de alinhadores,
ou aligner como possível tratamento de algumas más oclusões dentárias. Este
trabalho consiste numa investigação clínica desde o surgimento dos alinhadores
até à atualidade. A pesquisa baseia-se no conceito, vantagens, desvantagens,
indicações, contraindicações, attachments, consultas, procedimentos de
aplicação e cuidados dos sistemas de alinhadores existentes.
O principal objetivo é a realização de uma pesquisa entre os médicos dentistas
e médicos, para averiguar o grau de perceção de conhecimento dos diferentes
tipos de sistemas alinhadores, com a finalidade de saber qual é o motivo pelo
qual utilizam ou não o sistema, visto que o futuro da ortodontia pode seguir este
caminho a médio longo prazo.
Materiais e Métodos: Com o intuito de avaliar o conhecimento dos sistemas de
alinhadores foi aplicado um questionário em língua portuguesa e língua
espanhola através de um link online do sistema Qualtrics.
Resultados: A presente investigação teve um total de 254 participantes divididos
em dois grupos 168 espanhóis e 86 portugueses com uma idade compreendida
entre os 23 anos até mais de 55 anos, analisando o conhecimento sobre o
sistema de alinhadores dentários entre os médicos e médicos dentistas nos
países de Espanha e Portugal.
Conclusão: No presente estudo não foi encontrada muita literatura que faça a
comparação entre os médicos e médicos dentistas que utilizam o conhecimento
do sistema de alinhadores por isso o estudo permitirá conhecer e aprofundar
sobre o tema.
Introduction: Nowadays, due to the aesthetic demands of patients and the inconveniences presented by conventional orthodontic treatments, the use of aligner systems has increased as a possible treatment for some dental malocclusions. This paper consists of a clinical investigation from the emergence of aligners to the present day. The research is based on the concept, advantages, disadvantages, indications, contraindications, attachments, consultations, application procedures and care of the existing aligner systems. The main objective is to carry out a survey among dentists and doctors, to find out the degree of perception of knowledge of the different types of aligner systems, in order to know why they use or do not use the system, since the future of orthodontics may follow this path in the medium to long term. Materials and Methods: In order to evaluate the knowledge of the aligner systems, a questionnaire in Portuguese and Spanish was applied through an online link from the Qualtrics system. Results: The present investigation had a total of 254 participants divided into two groups 168 Spanish and 86 Portuguese with an age ranging from 23 years to over 55 years, analysing the knowledge about the dental aligner system among doctors and dentists in the countries of Spain and Portugal.
