Abstract(s)
O presente estudo tem como principal objetivo perceber o impacto que os riscos psicossociais têm na vida dos bombeiros portugueses. Assim, propõe-se estudar as diferenças de médias utilizando as variáveis sociodemográficas. Nesta investigação é objetivo investigar o papel da moderação da antiguidade com o stress e com as estratégias de coping. Neste sentido, foram aplicadas duas escalas de autorrelato, o COPSOQ, para avaliar os riscos psicossociais e, Ways of Coping Questionnaire, instrumento que avalia as estratégias de coping. Ambas as escalas foram administradas a 146 bombeiros portugueses distribuídos por quatro quartéis a norte de Portugal. No que respeita aos resultados, não foi possível encontrar diferenças estatisticamente significativas nas variáveis sociodemográficas. Relativamente à moderação, o mesmo aconteceu quando estudado a influência que a antiguidade tinha na relação entre o stress e as estratégias de coping. Contudo, nesta investigação são levantadas questões pertinentes para futuras investigações que serão posteriormente discutidas.
This study intends to assess the impact psychosocial risks have in the lives of Portuguese firefighters. As such, the study of mean differences using sociodemographic variables is proposed. This investigation aims to investigate the role of moderation of seniority with stress and coping strategies. Considering this, two self-report scales were applied, COPSOQ in order to evaluate psychosocial risks, and Ways of Coping Questionnaire used to evaluate coping strategies. Both scales were filled by 146 Portuguese firefighters distributed by four fire stations in northern Portugal. Results did not show significant statistical differences for sociodemographic variables. Relatively to moderation, the same result was observed when the study focused in the influence that seniority has in the relationship between stress and coping strategies. Albeit, this investigation raises pertinent questions to future works that will be discussed later.
