Intensivos, foi-me concedida creditação nesta área.
This report has been written within the context of the Professional Master's Course in Medical-Surgical Nursing in the area of Nursing for People in Critical Situation. This document reflects the entire path taken, namely the research carried out and describes, in a critical and reflective way, the activities developed, as well as the skills acquired in the different internship fields. The report covers two main internship periods included in the scope of the Final Internship and Report: The Optional Internship, which was carried out in a Public Hospital in Lisbon in an Intensive Care Unit of Cardiothoracic Surgery; and the Urgency Internship that was carried out in an Urgency Operating Room of a Central Hospital in Lisbon. According to the skills acquired by my professional experience in Intensive Care, I was granted accreditation in this area. The choice of Hospital Institutions, as well as the Services in question, was always related to the search for new knowledge and realities known so far in order to improve my care provision. The theme chosen to investigate was the risk assessment of pressure injuries in critically ill people. A scoping review was carried out, which proved to be very pertinent and of great contribution to improving the quality of care in the internships performed. Still, during the internship in the Operating Room, field work was carried out on pressure injuries in the intraoperative period, the results of which were later shared and discussed with the entire team. The acquisition of skills, technical dexterity, planning and decision making in the face of complex and unpredictable situations, was a constant and a contribution, as well as the integration of difficulties, the confrontations that a specialist nurse faces under an ethical, moral, social perspective and deontological, based on the assumptions that guide the nursing profession, when caring for the person in a critical situation.
